Libra is the sign of balance and couldn’t we all use a bit of that lately? What is fair and just anymore? As the sign associated with the Scales of Justice, striving towards equality is always the end goal. While trying to achieve that middle position or balance point may seem like a cake walk, it is far from that.
Let’s say you have are invited to a meeting and are asked to be the negotiator and make sure everyone is happy. You begin the meeting and you listen to each person take a turn and express their views on the new elevator music. As you can imagine, quite quickly you would notice some people were happy with the new melodies, while others liked some of the music, and others wanted to avoid the elevators entirely now. Getting everyone to agree on the type of music would take some time to figure out what appeals to most people. Libra would be one of the best signs to manage this task.
There is tension.
There is a desire to get to calm or at least immerse oneself in a soothing environment.
And along comes Uranus in Aries opposing the Moon. Uranus is the wild card of the zodiac and represents individuality and authenticity. Aries is the Warrior archetype. Warriors are strong and steady and willing to take risks to be victorious. Social norms, social graces and “should” or “don’t upset the applecart” are not welcomed by Uranus. Uranus wants to champion being unique and chooses to challenges the status quo by rolling instead of spinning on its axis.
We have our feelings represented by the Libran Moon. The Moon wants peace and balance and would, therefore, have a tendency to be polite and accommodating. Uranus is going head to head opposing this Moon asking for rebellion and courage, a call to awaken the trailblazer. The Moon is not looking for a fight and yet, Uranus feels passionate about being true to oneself, no matter how much you stand apart from the crowd. We may feel this turmoil showing up in our relationships- how much do I keep the peace and an open ear versus how much do I fight to stay true to my individual nature?
Jupiter and Mercury are nearby in Scorpio. As Jupiter expands whatever it touches and Mercury is the communication station, we may be inclined towards getting really raw and real with our thoughts. Getting to the bottom of those relationship issues may prove to be a path you find yourself traversing. Scorpio is no BS. So, if you decide to engage in conversations, be forewarned that skirting around issues may not be tolerated at this time. You may get called on your stuff. If you are up for the intensity, it is a great time to reach out for a deeper connection.
As always on New Moon, this is a time to set an intention that will come to fruition under the Full Moon. The Full Moon will be in Taurus in 2 weeks.
Some ideas to ponder while setting your intentions. Written words are powerful.

Jupiter leaves the land of Libra and enters the realm of Scorpio on October 10th. Jupiter, the largest Planet in the Solar System besides the Sun expands whatever it touches. Jupiter entered Libra last September. In Libra, the focus would have been about balance. Balance and keeping the peace whenever possible are Libra’s aims. Libra doesn’t reach balance easily, for it is always aware of both sides of a situation. Sometimes with knowing both sides and being able to see both perspectives leads one to indecision, the shadow side of Libra. In essence, the past year would have ideally been about compromise and finding an equal playing field in our relationships, pushing to come to an understanding of those in our lives and forge alliances.
Now Jupiter enters the world of the Scorpion. This position is not for the faint of heart, for Scorpio has moved past the pleasantries and façade of Libra to an initiative which desires truth at all costs. Pussyfooting around a topic or agenda is not Scorpio’s forte. Reality no matter how ugly it is best out in the open, not denied, but rather relish in all aspects of life- the good, the bad, the ugly. This is what will make Jupiter in Scorpio happy- embracing the totality of human existence- the dark and the light. Scorpio taps into the unconscious realms. Scorpio knows that life is precious and powerful- for its power animal, the Scorpion, carries venom that can take a life. ‘Sex, birth, death’ are all ruled by Scorpio- the entrance and exit of life.
The primal essence of Scorpio is transformation through awareness of the unconscious. It believes that embracing all aspects of self allows one to ultimately rise, like a Phoenix, and rise out of the ashes. It is a powerful sign to say the least. In intimate affairs, it wants to engage with the other very deeply, to ignite that sense of raw human passion and connection. It is not the act of sex per se, but the deeper engagement of merging two souls. When the armor and shields have been cast aside and the partners are open emotionally and psychologically, trusting and completely vulnerable, Scorpio will feel alive.
Are we willing to do this? Are we willing to be unguarded and transparent? Are we willing to engage in the more uncomfortable conversations in order to be truthful and real? Will we be ready for the truth at all costs? Are we ready to look at our less than pretty parts of ourselves and invite them to the table? Are we willing to let down our protections and be vulnerable? Are we willing to take our power back?

With a full Moon in Aries at 11:39 AM Pacific Time, it is time to develop COURAGE. Aries is the sign that is dumb enough to take that leap into the unknown. Dumb is perhaps not the right word as that implies stupidity and there is nothing lacking in intelligence here. What can be lacking are all the forethought and the worry about how things may go if you TAKE a RISK.
I recently had the experience of planning for a new adventure, where I was going to be meeting new people, sleeping in a new location, and studying a new method of personal growth. I was nervous as the date approached thinking of all the things that could go wrong and trying to prepare for something I knew only a little bit about. I planned and planned, trying to make sure it all went well. In the end, I needed to let go and have faith. There was no way to be completely ready for the unknown, and at some point I needed to board the plane. And so I did. I put one foot in front of the other and walked into the adventure.
And what happened? Well, I met some great people; I learned that all the things I was so worried about did not come to fruition. I learned that taking a chance and putting myself out there paid off as I had a wonderful time and made some great connections. I challenged my own comfort zone and this allowed me to feel better, and make some new friendships. What part of you is asking you to stand up and take a risk, show your courage?
Aries: While relationships seem front and center now, you are more eager than ever to strike a balance. As you aim your arrows towards daily routines and health, you feel that taking care of yourself is where it all begins.
Taurus: Getting the simple things in life in order seems to be easily workable right now for you. Keep with those routines as they will help you in the long run as all Bull’s know. Dreams become the expression of your emotions this week and drifting and imagining or “spacing out” are really compelling. Embrace the moments to just inhale.
Gemini: Creativity and play are at the forefront now…it is a good time for you to follow your heart. If you allow yourself to open up your imagination, let whatever arises peak your insatiable curiosity. Make a vow to stay with it, and not get distracted.
Cancer: Home is where the heart is and as the sign associated with the Great Mother- family is always high on the priority list. Be it your family of origin or your chosen family, you love those close to you. Talking about what could improve in your relationships seems to go well if you all stay curious.
Leo: You may find yourself chatting with friends and coming up with ways to be more resourceful or improve your skills. You may come together and make a plan of action for what you would do in case of an emergency. Communicating in ‘anyway you can’ will be helpful right now, even in small acts like mailing a postcard to your Aunt Betty.
Virgo: Lighten up if you can and try to breathe whenever you start to get ahead of yourself. It is all about you right now and you don’t need to be reminded that self-love is where it all begins. Remind yourself that not everything has to be seen to be believed, some things can be felt in the passion of the heart.
Libra: While striving for balance seems to be the never-ending story, remember you are the director of your own play, ‘truth be told’. There is such a desire to be brave and courageous in love, and all the while maintaining your equilibrium and not losing yourself in the process is the challenge.
Scorpio: Getting out there and bringing together groups seems to fulfill your desire to make a difference. In your heart you seek to be playful and less serious, yet always keeping your eyes on your long range goals and dreams.
Sagittarius: Although not typically the case, there is a bit of a serious tone to you lately. You feel the impulse to really master something and put those childhood wounds behind you. If you can commit to showing up and putting some order into the chaos, the skies the limit!
Capricorn: Right when you felt you had it all worked out, a new idea develops. You feel this is the time to look at things from a new perspective. Enrolling in that class you have been considering may just be the spark that ignites a new passion.
Aquarius: Figuring out how to make lasting changes by taking a deep look at what lies under the covers and tucked away in the closets feels like the right move now. You are eager to get to the bottom of things even if it seems uncomfortable.
Pisces: Self/other, self/other, where to draw the line? As a sign that specializes in permeability and no boundaries, this can cause some questions to arise. What is it that I need to take responsibility for? Listening to the voices that guide you to the next practical step are what are most needed now.
The Sun has recently entered Leo and will meet up with the Moon at 0 degrees. A New Moon is always a beginning and 0 degrees is also a starting point, emphasizing the new even more. This Moon is in the sign of Leo- the King, the Performer, the Artist, the Child. This is the archetype motivated to perform from the intuitive, creative place inside us. Without a lot of consideration and contemplation, it responds to the fires brewing within. After building on the courage of Aries, Leo lights up the room like a ray of sunshine. It is likened to the energy of a child that is reliant upon the moment and the unfiltered expression of what arises. Children’s comments and minds defy rational logic sometimes. When a small child sits down to draw, they say things like “I am going to draw a masterpiece”. The sky is the limit with Leo. This is how we shine our light, our creative essence is through the lens of Leo.
Additional characters include Mars who recently transitioned into Leo. Mars at 1 degree will be pumping up the intentions we set around this New Moon. Mars wants to really allow for the seed to be pollinated and fertilized making this an extra potent New Moon.
Uranus will be influencing the Moon pushing it in the direction of courage. It chides the Moon to ‘let go of fear, and what others think’, ‘ARISE’! Uranus is the wildcard and in the final degrees of Aries, it has had it with waiting. JUST DO IT already!
Mercury is trying to help us to figure out what is our creative passion. As it sits in Leo, it wants us to draw in the creative ideas and the playful ways of communicating. BE in the MOMENT.
For this New Moon in Leo, we should take some quiet time to allow what needs to arise come in. As we create from the dark Moon, allowing any and all possibility, we can keep our sights on the Sun and what it wants to tell us. How can we shine ever so brighter? What is yearning to express in us? What comes up for you when you think of your most natural state? What were your favorite games or things to do as a child?
Enter the land of make believe, and allow whatever wants to come forward emerge, without restriction and logic. Tap into childish joy and creation!
Just shortly after the Moon rises this evening, the Moon will be in 100% illumination or directly opposite the Sun by degree. Not every Full Moon is this way, for it is exactly opposite the Sun on the day of Full Moon, however it could occur in the morning or at any other time that day. Why do we care? Well perhaps we don’t, but it strikes me right off the bat as unique. I always photograph the Full Moon rising and don’t see it becoming exact just after rise very often. This will guarantee 100% illumination at rise, not 99.8% or whatever. Who might care about this? CAPRICORNS!
In the theme of Capricorn, it makes perfect sense as Capricorn is about mastery and perfection. It is a beautiful, if not seemingly orchestrated performance for as the Full Moon rises gloriously in the night sky, it is at its most precise opposition. Capricorn couldn’t have planned it any better.
Well, in saying that, I see that Pluto will be a degree away from the Full Moon at 18 degrees Capricorn. Whenever Pluto is on the scene, we take a pause. Pluto is not known for frivolity, but rather the nickname ‘Lord of the Underworld’ should start to build some images. This Planet was discovered in the 1930’s when Freud was just starting to talk about the unconscious mind. As above, so below- the psychological breakthroughs of the time seem to mimic the discovery of a Planet that WANTS to get to the core of ROOT of our emotional psychology. In doing so, of course, it must address the dark and the light, the shadow and the sunshine to see the root WHOLE ness. This awareness of truth and acceptance of all parts of self, rather than shame and avoidance, is one way to heal the scars. When left to their own devices these scars may result in a type of Groundhog Day repetition until recognized and integrated.
Under a Capricorn Moon, we are looking at how we are responsible, our inner authority, our judgement of self and other, and how we hold that role with ourselves. It can also arise issues with the Father archetype and how we hold that in our lives today. With Pluto in the mix, we kicked it up a notch to delve into the uncomfortable shadowy places to purge that which does not serve us anymore. Pluto- the Great Transformer!
In addition, the Sun in Cancer who is ready to squeal and cry if prompted, is hanging out with Mars. Yes, Mars, the God of War. Does this sound treacherous? IT IS. But do not fear, this passion play is where we find the transformation and change that we all crave, as the raw emotions that need to come forward may find themselves at our doorstep right now. LET it OUT, cry, whatever way to just go deeper into what is coming up. If at all possible, stay in the heart, try not to put a story around it all. Just let it flow knowing this is the opportunity to release it.
If we look to the ruler of Capricorn, we find Saturn aka the Lord of Karma and Father Time. Currently sitting in Sagittarius, this is the sign of the Gypsy and the Philosopher. Sagittarius thrives in the exploration of ‘life as an unfolding mystery’ with its motto “GO BIG or GO HOME”. Sag pushes the optimistic envelope at all costs. It seeks the truth and the formation of a coalescing strategy that allows it to arrive at some level of understanding. So we may have been asking ourselves questions as of late, that are trying to put the pieces to the puzzle of life together. What do we believe? What do we really stand for? What do we want to build? Saturn is in “retrograde” motion so it is about going within to discover these truths until it goes direct near the eclipse in August. We can allow the big dreams to arise right now, and make plans to enact them starting at the end of August. In preparation, we can clear out any old hurts that need purging under the gift of this FULL Moon.
Jupiter in Libra, the ruler of Sagittarius, squares off the SUN and MOON requesting that things be fair and equal, in efforts to keep some semblance of peace. Blowups never seem to get you where you need to go, so try to watch out for what may be bubbling up in you and needs to stay with you and not cast onto the nearest other.

New Moon in Cancer on 6/23/2017 at 7:30 PM
Cancer is the 1st emotional sign we find on the zodiac wheel. We move from Fire/Aries, Earth/Taurus, Air/Gemini, to arrive at the 4th sign- Water/ Cancer. It is water in liquid form, flowing and ebbing with the tides. The animal is the Crab, who has the sweetest, tender inside, and a hard calcified shell on the outside. This shell is in constant rhythm with nature, and can completely fall away when it has been outgrown. “E Motion” implies movement and flow with “motion” and that does describe some of the quality of our emotions, they vacillate, arise and fall, shift and turn. From this pure, raw emotion, we find the Mother Archetype. In our greatest vulnerabilities in youth, when we cannot survive on our own, it is Mother who protects and nurtures us. The heart connects in Cancer, it FEELS.
With a New Moon in Cancer, it is a blank slate from which to set your intentions to manifest at FULL Moon. In the theme of Cancer, we can look at how we mother and nurture ourselves. How we might put up a protective shell when we feel vulnerable or ‘scuttle’ away like a crab. We may want to consider how we can allow ourselves to embrace our feelings, to trust in the flow, and use the power of Cancer to stay emotionally present. Find the house this falls in your birth chart to find where you are being asked to open, to let in, and feel into as purely and with raw intuition to what is being seeded. Free charts can be found at astro.com.
Cancer rules the Moon so this is a great time to honor the Moon that guides us every day.
Last Quarter Moon in Pisces 6/17/17
As the Moon forms a 90 degree angle or “SQUARE” to the Sun, we find the illumination of the Moon is partly lit now. Each night it is lit up less and less as the Moon heads towards New Moon. During Last Quarter, we see ½ of what we did at FULL, reminding us that the harvest has bloomed; parts are dying away and returning to the dark. At this time in the journey of the Moon, we are in between FULL and NEW. We can see what flourished at FULL in what we harvested, but it starts to lose that sweetness, that punch, found at FULL. The harvest is still alive, but parts are starting to decay. We have a sense that we are preparing for a new beginning as things die off, so we turn in and review the journey in preparation of releasing and seeding new life.
This Moon meets up with Chiron in Pisces. Chiron is the Centaur often nicknamed the “Wounded Healer”. He had a wound that would not heal. Through working with this type of pain and irritation, and arriving at acceptance, Chiron learned that through healing himself, he could help others. With the energy of Pisces, that seeks to dissolve all boundaries, live in the present moment, and connect with everything, we may be feeling our wounding and also the wounds of everyone and everything. Coming from this place of 'interconnectedness' and the acceptance of wounds, we develop compassion for ourselves and others. With heartfelt compassion, we can heal ourselves and create space for others to heal. Releasing the expectation that we should be ‘perfect’ embraces the reality of human existence, and growth.
Naturally, when the Moon and Sun are in ‘hard’ aspect to each other, there is a friction between the head or ego (Sun) and the Moon (Heart). We are advised to listen to both, knowing that the deeper we can open to our emotional feelings, we can become more integrated in how we identify (Sun). From this point of emotional awareness and contemplation, we can let go of what does not serve us, have gratitude for the journey and prepare for the New Moon in Cancer on June 23rd.
The Moon is just about to leave Capricorn and enter Aquarius at 10:50 AM Pacific Time. The past couple of days, the Moon was close to Pluto, making things a little more serious in nature. As we tried to eliminate the excesses, through glimpses of the soul’s yearnings, and keep what we can commit to working towards.
The Moon in Aquarius will encourage us to walk to our own rhythm. Find the ‘different’ part of yourself, and stand up, be proud and loud. Uranus in Aries is asking you to claim that flare you have that no one else can quite compare.
Mercury, the Planet that helps us to make sense of what people are trying to convey and vise-versa, moves into slow and steady Taurus. Taurus is, perhaps, the most grounded and not known for swiftness, by any means. It is seeking calm and peace after the chaos of Aries. Aries need to be pushing forward past fears and emulating its archetypal symbol as the ‘Warrior’. In Taurus, we recognize that we are in these bodies and they need care and tending, rest and rejuvenation. Expect your communications to be a little more thought out and even seeming to come from what your body is telling you. The urgency of Aries may calm its jets for a bit.
Both the Moon and Mercury are in fixed signs of Aquarius and Taurus. While that makes these two Planets find each other a little bothersome, it can help us to stay the course. Rather than the impulsivity of the cardinal energy, the fixity can help to keep going the distance. Eyes on the prize!

New Moon in Taurus April 26th, 2017 5:17 AM
The New Moon births tomorrow in Taurus at 6 degrees, 27 minutes. Taurus is the Naturalist and the first sign in the element of Earth. With Taurus, we unite with the body and the essence of sensory experience. As we breathe into these vessels of skin and bones, we align with the gravity of our physical being. The body response clues us in to what makes us feel calm and secure, safe and peaceful. Eating, sleeping and replenishing this body system, keeps the mind and emotions balanced. Following the rhythms of the body keeps us flowing in unison with the world we live in. Do I need to rest? What is the body asking for?
This New Moon does not interact with a lot of other Planets, however if we look to the ruler of Taurus, Venus, we find some activity. Venus is in the last degrees of Pisces, 29 degrees. Venus was at this degree on Feb 2, and then revisited that point on April 3rd during retrograde. After moving in forward motion, she has come across this last degree of Pisces for the last time in 18 months. Thinking back to those dates, are similar themes arising in you now around what you value and what you can let go of? If you opened up your imagination to unlimited possibility, what is it that you want to create?
This last degree of Pisces is also the last degree of the entire zodiac, so an ending or final release may be felt during this New Moon. Pisces honors that which we don’t see physically. In the element of water, it is the last water sign as it has moved from liquid water in Cancer to ice in Scorpio. Now in Pisces, the water is evaporating, or becoming steam as it forms a misty effervescence that connects with that which lies beyond our physical grasp. Imagination, intuition, empathy, compassion all come from this source. Pisces connects with the world of Spirit, letting go of our rational mind and entering the world of the infinite, with no separation. Venus asks us to reflect on what can be released, and also provides the opportunity to connect with something greater, something beyond time and space, and something timeless.
Venus has been in tense relationship with Saturn, Grandfather Time, who is in Sagittarius. Saturn is the Taskmaster, the Master Builder, the Disciplinarian rooted in Earth, creating and overseeing structures. In Sagittarius, it is seeking the truth and meaning of it all, which is an expansive vision. Sagittarius is the Philosopher and the Optimist, so although there is a tension and pressure between Venus and Saturn, there is some commonality in seeking higher truths. Saturn will not be happy to just pontificate about the meaning of life, it wants to make something of it- bring forth something physical. Venus in Pisces will not see things so hard lined as it merges and dissolves boundaries that Saturn is trying to construct. Confusing? Sure, that can be the nature of form and formlessness trying to integrate. So what really matters to you? If you had to pack 3 books to take on that journey, which ones would they be? What would you pack in your suitcase? Who would be invited if anyone to go with you?
As a practice to harness this New Moon energy, all of these questions should arise from the body, not the mind. Taurus asks you to breathe in yourself, slow down and see what surfaces. Ground in, plant your seeds and let the universe know what is in your heart.
Much love and gratitude,
The Moon is in Capricorn today at 20 degrees, heading towards Last Quarter Phase. This phase of the Moon hearkens a period of ‘letting go and release’. We set our intention at New Moon, it was sealed and brought into bloom at Full Moon, and now as we wind down, we let go. In the letting go, we also trust in the universe, that ‘thy will be done’. With the Capricorn influence, we may feel a little more industrious or serious today as we warm up to the ‘Wise Elder’ in us that desires to be respected and live by integrity.
We are in interesting times, to say the least, right now. Astrologically we find Venus just coming out of ‘retrograde’ motion that began March 4th. This has caused a ‘rewind’ of sorts as we review, revisit, renew, reconsider, and reevaluate our values and relationships. As Venus started moving forward again recently, she still has not returned to her original point when the ‘retro’ began so we are not home free yet. She will not officially end this process of evaluation until May 20th. We may feel some forward motion and an easing up in relationships, but we have to incorporate what we learned these 6 weeks.
Mercury, the planet of communication, is retrograde until May 4th. It will not be completely out of its shadow until May 20th. We also have Saturn and Jupiter in retrograde motion. This is a period of evaluation, but not necessarily action. We are sort of in a ‘holding pattern’. Jupiter will go direct June 10th and Saturn will go direct August 26th. Of course we cannot put everything in life on hold, but we can know that right now is a good time to go within. Where we have been, what we have committed to, what our voice yearns to express, what we ultimately want in love and relationship, and how we may have underestimated ourselves. Journaling and meditation are recommended to find the nuggets of the self that yearn to be reclaimed, and expressed.

Full Moon April 10th, 2017 11:08 PM PST, “Pink Moon”
The Moon will reach Full Illumination late this evening on the West Coast of the USA. In the sign of Libra, the main essence is to seek balance and equality. Libra, a mental air sign, uses its innate ability to understand differing perspectives and sees the value in each position. From this level of understanding, Libra is a natural negotiator and mediator, as it is able to hold opposite views concurrently. Allowing every voice to be heard, understood and acknowledged; and then to satisfy all involved, Libra proposes a “middle ground”. While this may sound like an easy or effortless integration, Libra is challenged with this task. The Libran can feel internal conflict and angst as it strives for this midpoint. If left alone, the Libran can spin and stress out, as it contemplates all the possibilities.
Like all movement in the sky, stellar events never act alone, but are part of a web of Planets and Stars. All Full Moons are naturally opposing the Sun, which is currently in Aries. Jupiter is very close to the Moon, which serves to “expand” whatever it touches. Uranus is hanging out with the Sun, whose aim is ‘authenticity at all costs’ and supports individuality. To add a little depth and soul connection, we find Pluto at 90 degree angle to the Sun and Moon. Pluto, Lord of the Unconscious Realms, will be making the parts of ourselves left in the shadows emerge. Pluto seeks transformation and as we incorporate ‘the good, the bad, the light, and the dark’, we find greater wholeness.
The Sun in Aries fire, requests that we come forth with courage to be who we are, to start a fire within and claim our essence. The Moon says, “Great work, but don’t forget that we also need to compromise and negotiate, in order to grow and feel what is truly aligned with our heart”. Pluto says, “Well given the intensity created by the energy of a Full Moon, I want to kick it up a notch and let your unconscious speak, allowing you to see what your soul wants”. Pluto continues, “In fact, I am going to ask my buddy Mars to fulfill my desires through action and will.” Mars in Taurus focuses on ‘sensory stimulation’ to move from- the breath, the urge to eat and sleep, and the basic needs of the animal in us. If our system feels any overwhelm, we are directed to turn into our ‘senses’ for guidance, and returning to the breath to ground.
Venus is in retrograde motion until the 14th when it ‘stations’ to move forward again. If you have been finding yourself reviewing your values, revisiting relationships and their dynamics, and going within to find the answers, you are right on track with Venus. As Venus spins forward on the 16th, expect less review of our relationships and more clarity towards to move forward.
This Full Moon puts a spotlight, just like that beam of Moonshine, on an area of your life that you could strive for more balance, and ultimately peace. If you look to 21 degrees of Libra in your natal chart, you can find the corresponding link to what house this Full Moon activates. The house will tell you the area of life that you can move towards cooperation and compromise, and honor your values while also the values of the other, to find peace.
If you would like to explore your individual chart and stellar influences, please consider a reading or a report.
New Moon on March 28, 2017 at 2:57 AM PST/ 5:37 AM EST
7 degrees 37 minutes
The Aries New Moon brings forth NEW birth as this is the 1st sign on the Zodiac Wheel. As we just celebrated the beginning of Spring, and the Sun moved into Aries, so this New Moon asks us to plant our seeds and grow. Aries is all about COURAGE. The courage to take the leap, to enter the unknown, to enter an arena where it may be treacherous, but you do it anyway- knowing that we must conquer fear to engage in the totality of life. A fire churning inside that yearns to let loose, Aries is fire ignited ready to burst into the new.
The Moon is currently in a popular position as the Sun, Venus, Mercury and Uranus are all in Aries as well right now. This adds more kindling to the fire burning, encouraging us to live our passions and fight for what is our birthright. What is worth fighting for? What is asking us to take the risk and be true to ourselves at all costs? Tap into your inner warrior- what are they trying to say? How might you have allowed fear to hold you back?
Venus has recently moved into “Inferior Conjunction” so she is now rising before the Sun instead of after the Sun sets. They have recently “kissed” in a manner of speaking, as they were at the same degree of Aries yesterday. When the bright, luminous Sun is so close to Venus, she becomes invisible in the sky for some time and we say she is in the “underworld”. This proximity to the Sun creates heat, so she must go naked and remove all her protections emulating the purification process. She is currently in retrograde motion, which is causing all of us to do a review of what we value, our relationships, our self-worth, and our pleasures. As are blind to see her, the invisibility speaks to the quality of this transit as well. What is lurking beneath that we are ready to finally deal with and let go of? How can we heal our warrior’s wounds? The invisible asks us to turn in. A retrospective review is underway in consideration of where we have been and how we want to move forward. She is last seen on March 16th and returns to view on April 3rd when she is in Pisces. As the Sun and Venus get far enough from each other that Venus can differentiate its light from the Sun, we will see her in the night sky again beginning of April. She will leave retrograde motion April 15th at 26 degrees Pisces. This will be a good time to move forward with the insights gleaned during this “review” time.
With this New Moon at 7 degrees, the main interaction is between the Sun and Venus. This highlights the “super-duper” beginning, the NEW, and the advent of instinctive passion. Where do you want to light that spark of creation? Find 7 degrees of Aries in your birth chart to find the area of life affected by this New Moon, and where in your life you may be being asked to bring something forward, plant a seed, and grow. With Uranus and Mercury near each other, the mental activity could be feeling antsy and edgy as new insights may be trying to get your attention. It may be feeling like a sense of urgency or feel like a push to get going as the fire simmers within, building its intention, until it overflows and bursts into new life.
Happy NEW Aries Moon! May we all find the courage to be brave and live with passion!
At 7:54 AM on the Pacific Coast, the Moon directly opposed the Sun, creating “FULL” Moon. The house is stacked in Pisces right now with Neptune, Mercury, Sun, South Node of the Moon, and Chiron holding court. With Pisces, we find water, emotion, and transient reality, where matter transforms into spirit and essence. We may feel ourselves drifting into the moment, enjoying fantasy movies, or anything that moves us beyond our physical states. Pisces governs dreams and imagination allowing us to depart from the rational and logical, and enter a world of unlimited potential, should we “believe” or imagine it. As water takes the form of whatever contains it, it also seeps into crevices, penetrating boundaries. Pisces can have challenges keeping a strong boundary of separation, as the ultimate goal of the Fish is to dissolve into everything and merge into “oneness” as it grows compassion. This watery energy is affecting us all now, asking us to tap into our compassionate heart center, and bridge the gap of separation with all living beings. Like the great oceans that refuse no river, we are tasked with opening ourselves up to a place of less boundary and love. In that place, we also want to acknowledge, we don’t need to take on all the suffering of the world to where we feel as though we are drowning, leading to victimhood or pessimism.
With a Virgo Full Moon, we harness the Craftsperson, the Servant, the Mentor, and the Apprentice. With humility, Virgo wants to feel useful and skillful, and desires to improve or perfect something. It has an innate quality that allows it to see the ‘chinks in the armor’ and follow the course to ‘make better’ that which crosses its path. Through this alchemy, it brings ‘heaven to Earth’ or ‘spirit into matter’ or ‘energy into form’. Virgo has an alliance with thinking as it is ruled by Mercury, and its element Earth allows it to excel in tasks required in the physical world. Tending to crops, planting seeds, and harvesting, which are all to provide sustenance to the physical body and thus, ultimately nourish the ‘soul’ inside us.
This Earthy rooted energy is also being supported by Mars who recently moved into Taurus, another Earth sign. Taurus grounds itself in simplicity, and the natural rhythms of human existence- eating, sleeping, breathing, listening, etc. Mars, the driver of our desire, has started to take a breather from the frenetic exchange with Uranus, and the passionate fiery placement in Aries, to now slowing down. We may experience this shift as we move about in our lives as we take time to fulfill our comforts, rather than thrust into a new terrain. Although Venus is still lighting the fires for heated passion in relating, she is currently retrograde, so those fires are burning more internally for us than in our outer world. We review what we value for ourselves and our instinctual desires during this time.
Eclipses come in cycles called ‘Saros’ and occur every 18 years. The Eclipse on Feb 26 2017 is part of Saros 140, and the last time we experienced this cycle that began in the year 1512 was Feb 16, 1999. In order to predict what type of outward event may happen in your life, you can look at life themes for the year 1999. Eclipses are marked by specific event dates, yet their impact and occurrence timeframe should be broadened to gather the relevant characteristics of the timeframe. Think back to that time in your life for relevant life themes. The next time this Saros cycle occurs is March 9, 2035.
This Solar Eclipse occurs at 8 degrees, 12 minutes of Pisces. When the Moon and Sun collide, we will be in ‘Pisces Pie’. The Sun, our identity, life force, vitality will mesh with the Moon- our emotions, our internal processes, our mood. Pisces invites the symbol of the 2 fishes swimming in opposite directions, demonstrating the fluidity and changeability of this sign. This can also depict the connection to the mystical, dreamy realms with one fish in this world and one swimming among the heavens. Pisces being the last of the 12 signs is a transitional sign, ending a greater cycle, and returning to the beginning once again in Aries. So in this space, we “let go” of our need to control and determine our life outcomes, and we allow for synchronicity and tuning in to our deepest knowing to speak. Pisces can be a lot about the not doing. In a world where we foster activity and effort to resolve life’s challenges, sitting still can be torturous. We can find these moments as we go to sleep at night. When we still ourselves, what is there? The Planet Mercury which governs communication will move into the sign of Pisces on February 26th, helping to assist insights that may come in the form of being carried away by music, an in breath that feels completely peaceful, or beauty that stops you in your tracks. Pisces identifies with these moments of trance, moments of emotional fulfillment with a sensory experience of being connected to just about everything. It governs non-ordinary reality such as we meet in the dream time. Where you can walk up walls and fly. This includes going beyond the rational to invite the imagination to govern all possibilities. It also invites forgiveness to the table, as the development of compassion and release serves the Pisces ability to stay fluid and free from attachment.
With Saturn staying strong at 26 degrees of Sagittarius, we are tasked this year with holding true to our truths. We will have opportunities to strengthen our convictions. Mars and Venus are in balsalmic phase to each other, signifying an ‘endings’ signature, however with both of them being in Aries, we are simultaneously bombarded by ‘fresh start’ energy. It can feel like you have the energy to move forward, yet, need to tie up some loose ends as well. Uranus is right there in the mix igniting those desires. We are cautioned here to pay attention to flashes of awareness, but not to throw caution to the wind as we know these two dynamos can also combust if we push too hard. Jupiter in Libra opposing this Aries trifecta is trying to keep the peace.
Here are horoscopes for each sign~

It may all feel like an uphill battle, but allowing your voice an avenue of expression serves all of mankind.
Scorpio: Issues stemming from your where you have come from and your family of origin seem to be in your awareness. The question now is how you want to authentically express yourself today with all that you have learned. While there is a need to speak your truth, you are looking at the child within for how to harness the most power moving forward. A desire to serve others may be taking hold.
Libra: Although it seems important to find balance in your relationships, you are really putting efforts into making sure you don’t get lost in the shuffle. Although coming from a place of discerning what you do want and what you don’t want is on the front burner, you find that the more you go with the flow; your deepest wants have space to emerge.
Virgo: Although it may feel uncomfortable for you, you may feel called to shrug off those typical routines and chill out with friends. You may feel compelled to watch the sunset or a catch a movie with a loved one. Something is nudging you to make some space for others in your life. This provides a deep reflection of what can be harnessed when we let go of our rigid boundaries, perhaps seeing the ‘oneness of everything’.
Leo: It’s time to get a little more serious with the depths of who we are. While fun and games do entertain us, we are craving more intimate connections with those who can tap into our hearts. If we are able to allow ourselves to trust in something greater, and a world of infinite potential, we can find the courage to offer our passion to the world.
Cancer: Cancers may be grappling with the meaning of everything and feel stretched to find the answer that will help soothe the world’s pain. The suffering that we see is causing us to want to take care of our brothers and sisters, to end the suffering of all beings. Crabs may find they are taking inventory of what they do know, and coming up with a strategy to that includes forgiveness, compassion and healing. Inspiring others with their message serves to unite the hearts of many seeking leadership.
Gemini: Leading and offering your vision of how we can make the world a better place gives others the faith to keep moving forward. While it may seem like emotions are at the forefront of any initiative, you realize we must let our intuition take the lead at this time. Ideas may seem impossible but can all lead to bringing people together in unity.
Taurus: It’s all about the groups and places you frequent to feel a sense of belonging. These places may be shifting as you try to discern what is truly serving your growth and where you may be just depleting your reserves. Having the courage to let go of parasitic influences allows for the inner peace you so desire.
Aries: Badda boom badda bing! You may feel a fire burning within while simultaneously needing to let go of so much baggage. It is helpful to remind yourself that Rome wasn’t built in a day and as you sort through what can stay and what should go, you demonstrate what true leadership looks like and inspire others with your passion and insight.
