New Moon on March 28, 2017 at 2:57 AM PST/ 5:37 AM EST
7 degrees 37 minutes The Aries New Moon brings forth NEW birth as this is the 1st sign on the Zodiac Wheel. As we just celebrated the beginning of Spring, and the Sun moved into Aries, so this New Moon asks us to plant our seeds and grow. Aries is all about COURAGE. The courage to take the leap, to enter the unknown, to enter an arena where it may be treacherous, but you do it anyway- knowing that we must conquer fear to engage in the totality of life. A fire churning inside that yearns to let loose, Aries is fire ignited ready to burst into the new. The Moon is currently in a popular position as the Sun, Venus, Mercury and Uranus are all in Aries as well right now. This adds more kindling to the fire burning, encouraging us to live our passions and fight for what is our birthright. What is worth fighting for? What is asking us to take the risk and be true to ourselves at all costs? Tap into your inner warrior- what are they trying to say? How might you have allowed fear to hold you back? Venus has recently moved into “Inferior Conjunction” so she is now rising before the Sun instead of after the Sun sets. They have recently “kissed” in a manner of speaking, as they were at the same degree of Aries yesterday. When the bright, luminous Sun is so close to Venus, she becomes invisible in the sky for some time and we say she is in the “underworld”. This proximity to the Sun creates heat, so she must go naked and remove all her protections emulating the purification process. She is currently in retrograde motion, which is causing all of us to do a review of what we value, our relationships, our self-worth, and our pleasures. As are blind to see her, the invisibility speaks to the quality of this transit as well. What is lurking beneath that we are ready to finally deal with and let go of? How can we heal our warrior’s wounds? The invisible asks us to turn in. A retrospective review is underway in consideration of where we have been and how we want to move forward. She is last seen on March 16th and returns to view on April 3rd when she is in Pisces. As the Sun and Venus get far enough from each other that Venus can differentiate its light from the Sun, we will see her in the night sky again beginning of April. She will leave retrograde motion April 15th at 26 degrees Pisces. This will be a good time to move forward with the insights gleaned during this “review” time. With this New Moon at 7 degrees, the main interaction is between the Sun and Venus. This highlights the “super-duper” beginning, the NEW, and the advent of instinctive passion. Where do you want to light that spark of creation? Find 7 degrees of Aries in your birth chart to find the area of life affected by this New Moon, and where in your life you may be being asked to bring something forward, plant a seed, and grow. With Uranus and Mercury near each other, the mental activity could be feeling antsy and edgy as new insights may be trying to get your attention. It may be feeling like a sense of urgency or feel like a push to get going as the fire simmers within, building its intention, until it overflows and bursts into new life. Happy NEW Aries Moon! May we all find the courage to be brave and live with passion!

At 7:54 AM on the Pacific Coast, the Moon directly opposed the Sun, creating “FULL” Moon. The house is stacked in Pisces right now with Neptune, Mercury, Sun, South Node of the Moon, and Chiron holding court. With Pisces, we find water, emotion, and transient reality, where matter transforms into spirit and essence. We may feel ourselves drifting into the moment, enjoying fantasy movies, or anything that moves us beyond our physical states. Pisces governs dreams and imagination allowing us to depart from the rational and logical, and enter a world of unlimited potential, should we “believe” or imagine it. As water takes the form of whatever contains it, it also seeps into crevices, penetrating boundaries. Pisces can have challenges keeping a strong boundary of separation, as the ultimate goal of the Fish is to dissolve into everything and merge into “oneness” as it grows compassion. This watery energy is affecting us all now, asking us to tap into our compassionate heart center, and bridge the gap of separation with all living beings. Like the great oceans that refuse no river, we are tasked with opening ourselves up to a place of less boundary and love. In that place, we also want to acknowledge, we don’t need to take on all the suffering of the world to where we feel as though we are drowning, leading to victimhood or pessimism. With a Virgo Full Moon, we harness the Craftsperson, the Servant, the Mentor, and the Apprentice. With humility, Virgo wants to feel useful and skillful, and desires to improve or perfect something. It has an innate quality that allows it to see the ‘chinks in the armor’ and follow the course to ‘make better’ that which crosses its path. Through this alchemy, it brings ‘heaven to Earth’ or ‘spirit into matter’ or ‘energy into form’. Virgo has an alliance with thinking as it is ruled by Mercury, and its element Earth allows it to excel in tasks required in the physical world. Tending to crops, planting seeds, and harvesting, which are all to provide sustenance to the physical body and thus, ultimately nourish the ‘soul’ inside us. This Earthy rooted energy is also being supported by Mars who recently moved into Taurus, another Earth sign. Taurus grounds itself in simplicity, and the natural rhythms of human existence- eating, sleeping, breathing, listening, etc. Mars, the driver of our desire, has started to take a breather from the frenetic exchange with Uranus, and the passionate fiery placement in Aries, to now slowing down. We may experience this shift as we move about in our lives as we take time to fulfill our comforts, rather than thrust into a new terrain. Although Venus is still lighting the fires for heated passion in relating, she is currently retrograde, so those fires are burning more internally for us than in our outer world. We review what we value for ourselves and our instinctual desires during this time. |
