Hear the birds singing and the leaves rustling in the wind, lifting your eyelids open to see the new light of day as you smell fresh spring air. Stretching out your body to flex after a long nights rest, time to move and set foot on the soil to begin the day. Ah, breathe. We have shifted into the Sun’s season in Taurus. After fierce passion and risk taking under the Arian Sun, it is time to rest and slow down, “tuning in” through the senses. Mercury and Mars are near each other in Taurus causing our way of communicating and our desires to be influenced by the methodical, grounded, and sense orienting nature of an earth sign. The alignment of receiving information through the body and the drive to anchor oneself before proceeding can allow one to find stable footing. Pluto, master of the unconscious and the dilemma of whether it is a Planet or not, seems to want to rouse the body to remember the importance of lessons learned and the impermanent, transformative nature of it all. Jupiter is frustrated by such material strength wanting to shoot a bit more “from the hip” rather than being so calculating and stable, so try to "go the course" despite pressures to give in to the drama. As the Moon and Venus are gathering in Gemini, this inquisitive sign supports keeping the ways of relating flexible and interesting as well as the heart geared to alternative approaches and lively exchange encouraged by playful Jupiter in Leo. Neptune is influencing the Moon and Venus to maintain a level of compassion and empathy in order to stay connected to our spiritual center and the universe at large. “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” Lao Tzu

The Moon will be in the 28th degree of Aries tomorrow at 11:58 AM PST, meeting up with the Sun to bring about a New Moon. As the Moon reflects the Sun’s light, when it right near the Sun, there is no reflection making the Moon dark or invisible to the eye. We find this blank canvas is an excellent time to set intention around what you want to bring into manifestation during the Full Moon. When we contemplate the archetype of Aries, we see images of the Warrior, the Soldier, the Pioneer, the Leader, and the Champion. The motivation is to be courageous and bold, willing to take risks, regardless of fear, in order to fortify the self and become the Hero. As the 1st sign in the zodiac, Aries is not concerned so much about relations with another or the effect on the community or world at large. It is the pure spark ignited as life-force energy manifests into impulse. As a cardinal sign, it initiates. We need leaders with courage to walk into situations that may be logically be very risky and not hide in the shadows. Individually we need to face challenges with strength and passion and sometimes leap into unknown territory which may seem treacherous in order to move ourselves forward. Through finding courage, we can feel a great sense of accomplishment and belief in oneself. For to be bold, we test our limits and may even soar to new heights. If we stay frozen in fear, paralyzed by the possible outcomes, we lose an opportunity to flourish. So where are you the Hero? What are the things that scare you and hold you back? Can you find the areas where the fear may have run amuck and try to find the courage to just do it anyway? Nothing can be more gratifying than conquering your fears and living your passion. To find the area of your life affected by this New Moon, look for 28 degrees Aries in your chart. Of interest with this New Moon is that it is not in aspect to many other Planets. Of course the conjunction with the Sun is indicative of a New Moon, but most other Planets are in lower degrees. So this New Moon is functioning somewhat independently, much like the energy of Aries. So light up your passion and find the fire blazing within to move boldly past the fear and become the hero of your journey!
Pluto Stations Today. Pluto has been moving direct and now it will slow down to a stop or “station” and then change to reverse direction in relation to us on Earth. From a metaphorical perspective, it can be that moment when you are driving down the road and then come to a red light; you slam on the breaks and hit reverse. You have just passed by the territory you are now reversing through so it is not unfamiliar, however as you are traveling backwards it’s as if the movie of your life is playing backwards. What do you notice? What catches your attention? When a Planet is moving “direct” or forward it coincides with more external circumstances. When a Planet is moving reverse or retrograde, the effect is generally turned to internal circumstances. In essence, you may have had some experiences since last September when Pluto went direct that affected you on a psychological, soul level. You may have continued to plod along in your life, dealing with the power struggles or situations that produced some level of intense drama, but you may have not had a moment to really “process” it. Now is your chance until September to look beneath the surface reality and integrate what has occurred with your psyche. What was my part in situations that brought on power struggles? What did I learn about myself? How may I have willingly released my power? What events have left an imprint on my psychology? Should I own that issue or recognize that is someone else’s projection onto me? What is the message beyond the message? What can be released and what should be integrated? This process can be likened to pilfering through the garbage bin and finding a smelly mess and also finding little seedlings that are bursting to become beautiful flowers. For engagement and plodding through the dark, we become aware of the light, the contrast and map to transformation of our souls. Dig deep, detox and accept change as the constant on your journey into the dark night in which you are about to discover cracks where the light floods in, making you stronger through purification and acceptance of all truth.
Mercury, the winged messenger, is going to be shifting from Aries to Taurus later today. Under the Aries influence, we may have found courage to speak our mind and a sense of inspirational gumption. We may have let go of fear and felt a drive to tell it just like it is. When Aries is at its best, it can be courageous and bold, relying on intuitive impulse without much deliberation. As you can imagine, too much direct expression could be unbalanced leading to brash delivery of ideas, also known as “foot in mouth” when expressing oneself. Today we slow down a little mentally as Mercury moves into Taurus. We lose the “fire under your feet” feeling and move to “sensory awareness” that communicates from a grounded, stable arena. Taurus like a bull will become aware of the target, but not charge until the moment is right after checking in with the body and taking a few calculated breaths. With Venus’ recent entry into Gemini, we may find ourselves curious and inquisitive in our interactions with others. After all “Variety is the spice of life” and no one knows that better than the Gemini twins. In relationships, we may find we are in the childlike loop of “well, why?”, “How come?”, or “what if?”. As Venus is opposing Saturn in Sagittarius, the authority that just seems to “know it all”, there could be an opportunity for misunderstandings and self-righteousness if we don’t take a step back and see that we are “all in this together”. With assistance of the Moon entering Pisces today, the hearts connection to others may dissolve this tension building compassionate understanding and empathy for ourselves and our fellow man.
Feeling some intensity and emotional leftovers from the lunar eclipse? The Moon in Scorpio says, “Let’s shine light on the shadows, the realities of our lives, and incorporate the good, the bad, the ugly”. Venus is typically focused on harmony, beauty and anything pleasing and soothing, especially when in the sign of Taurus- the sign motivated by simplicity and basic needs of the body. Venus does not gravitate towards what may be hard to look at, what may cause chaos, or what may ruffle feathers so as she opposes the heart aligned with truth and exposing secrets, our emotions may be seeking a way to balance beauty and subconscious realities. With Venus in Taurus, it is a good time to nurture the body, surround the self in enchanting places that soothe and reassure the body of its strength and roots. Connect with others and enjoy life’s simple pleasures. With the Moon in Scorpio, we can use energy to traverse the darkness and heal as we are grounded through Venus’ stability.
Jupiter has been spinning backwards or retrogrades since December and now the planet of good luck and expansion is going direct on April 8th. With its flowing harmony to all the planets in Aries, this is a fortuitous time to unleash the child within, the playful spirit, and the one who wants to express itself with great enthusiasm. Madonna sings “express yourself- don’t go for second best baby, put your love to the test”. As spring is in the air, this is a time to “go for it”….make those dreams come true!! But do watch getting too extravagant like the recently released “Jupiter Ascending” that is bombing at the box office. We must follow our passions but not become exorbitant and self-indulgent at risk of taking it just too far. We have an eclipse coming up in the early morning hours this Saturday on the West Coast. The energy may be starting to get your attention as the Moon moves towards Full in the next few days. I am always visually impressed when I watch an eclipse. It is a sight to see the Moon’s reflective light dimmed by the shadow of the Earth and then taking on a RED shade from the Earths atmosphere, followed by a return to normalcy. I often wonder what the ancients thought about such transformations of the Moon. Research seems to support that our ancestors were quite attuned to the movement of the stars and knew when an eclipse was going to occur. Some cultures viewed it as a bad omen where animals were eating the Moon or it was attacked by demons, signifying the end of a period, as a new beginning was emerging. As the Moon reflects our emotional terrain, we are all up for an adjustment, letting some old feelings fall away, leaving room for a significant shift in our emotional consciousness. We know the heart is neither rational nor logical if it is doing its job of ebbing and flowing through the spectrum of emotions that arise from within. The emotional canvas for this eclipse concerns the balance between self and other, and in particular relationships. If that is not a HUGE subject and area of mystery for many, I am not sure what else is. So, we can anticipate some tugs at the heart, a reset of our emotional compass guiding us to navigate the terrain with a slightly different heartbeat. We may end relationships that are tainted or spoiled, or that have exceeded their “expiration date”. We may also start a new relationship that we see through a new pair of spectacles or that comes about unexpectedly. Who are our allies? Jupiter is in Leo stimulating the Moon to get creative and hold faith and optimism in what may arise. Uranus is opposing the Moon while it huddles up to the Sun, putting some pressure to “snap out of complacency” and the tendency to overcompensate for the needs of the other, risking the loss of one’s authentic self. We need to have an understanding of who “I am” before we relate to another successfully. The Libran tendency is to be a reflective mirror of the beloved before you, which is a beautiful way to build connection, empathy, and intimacy. However, the dance of love needs two partners to flow and create energy, not mimic or merge into just ONE individual while one partner becomes invisible. Pluto is causing friction, something he gladly will sign up for, to remind the heart of the unconscious desires that want to be fulfilled. How will you find the delicate balance between yourself and those you love? How can you maintain YOU in your wholeness and relate well to another? Where have you become a little too dependent? The gods above are placing bets on you, singing melodies that enchant the heart, to move courageously and in “real” harmony with your feelings, finding that delicate balance of great reward for you and the beloved. And if the beloved is yourself, that is a wonderful place to begin.
