New Moon in Taurus April 26th, 2017 5:17 AM The New Moon births tomorrow in Taurus at 6 degrees, 27 minutes. Taurus is the Naturalist and the first sign in the element of Earth. With Taurus, we unite with the body and the essence of sensory experience. As we breathe into these vessels of skin and bones, we align with the gravity of our physical being. The body response clues us in to what makes us feel calm and secure, safe and peaceful. Eating, sleeping and replenishing this body system, keeps the mind and emotions balanced. Following the rhythms of the body keeps us flowing in unison with the world we live in. Do I need to rest? What is the body asking for? This New Moon does not interact with a lot of other Planets, however if we look to the ruler of Taurus, Venus, we find some activity. Venus is in the last degrees of Pisces, 29 degrees. Venus was at this degree on Feb 2, and then revisited that point on April 3rd during retrograde. After moving in forward motion, she has come across this last degree of Pisces for the last time in 18 months. Thinking back to those dates, are similar themes arising in you now around what you value and what you can let go of? If you opened up your imagination to unlimited possibility, what is it that you want to create? This last degree of Pisces is also the last degree of the entire zodiac, so an ending or final release may be felt during this New Moon. Pisces honors that which we don’t see physically. In the element of water, it is the last water sign as it has moved from liquid water in Cancer to ice in Scorpio. Now in Pisces, the water is evaporating, or becoming steam as it forms a misty effervescence that connects with that which lies beyond our physical grasp. Imagination, intuition, empathy, compassion all come from this source. Pisces connects with the world of Spirit, letting go of our rational mind and entering the world of the infinite, with no separation. Venus asks us to reflect on what can be released, and also provides the opportunity to connect with something greater, something beyond time and space, and something timeless. Venus has been in tense relationship with Saturn, Grandfather Time, who is in Sagittarius. Saturn is the Taskmaster, the Master Builder, the Disciplinarian rooted in Earth, creating and overseeing structures. In Sagittarius, it is seeking the truth and meaning of it all, which is an expansive vision. Sagittarius is the Philosopher and the Optimist, so although there is a tension and pressure between Venus and Saturn, there is some commonality in seeking higher truths. Saturn will not be happy to just pontificate about the meaning of life, it wants to make something of it- bring forth something physical. Venus in Pisces will not see things so hard lined as it merges and dissolves boundaries that Saturn is trying to construct. Confusing? Sure, that can be the nature of form and formlessness trying to integrate. So what really matters to you? If you had to pack 3 books to take on that journey, which ones would they be? What would you pack in your suitcase? Who would be invited if anyone to go with you? As a practice to harness this New Moon energy, all of these questions should arise from the body, not the mind. Taurus asks you to breathe in yourself, slow down and see what surfaces. Ground in, plant your seeds and let the universe know what is in your heart. Much love and gratitude, Jen

The Moon is in Capricorn today at 20 degrees, heading towards Last Quarter Phase. This phase of the Moon hearkens a period of ‘letting go and release’. We set our intention at New Moon, it was sealed and brought into bloom at Full Moon, and now as we wind down, we let go. In the letting go, we also trust in the universe, that ‘thy will be done’. With the Capricorn influence, we may feel a little more industrious or serious today as we warm up to the ‘Wise Elder’ in us that desires to be respected and live by integrity.
We are in interesting times, to say the least, right now. Astrologically we find Venus just coming out of ‘retrograde’ motion that began March 4th. This has caused a ‘rewind’ of sorts as we review, revisit, renew, reconsider, and reevaluate our values and relationships. As Venus started moving forward again recently, she still has not returned to her original point when the ‘retro’ began so we are not home free yet. She will not officially end this process of evaluation until May 20th. We may feel some forward motion and an easing up in relationships, but we have to incorporate what we learned these 6 weeks. Mercury, the planet of communication, is retrograde until May 4th. It will not be completely out of its shadow until May 20th. We also have Saturn and Jupiter in retrograde motion. This is a period of evaluation, but not necessarily action. We are sort of in a ‘holding pattern’. Jupiter will go direct June 10th and Saturn will go direct August 26th. Of course we cannot put everything in life on hold, but we can know that right now is a good time to go within. Where we have been, what we have committed to, what our voice yearns to express, what we ultimately want in love and relationship, and how we may have underestimated ourselves. Journaling and meditation are recommended to find the nuggets of the self that yearn to be reclaimed, and expressed. If you want a more personalized interpretation, consider scheduling a reading. With love, Jen Full Moon April 10th, 2017 11:08 PM PST, “Pink Moon” The Moon will reach Full Illumination late this evening on the West Coast of the USA. In the sign of Libra, the main essence is to seek balance and equality. Libra, a mental air sign, uses its innate ability to understand differing perspectives and sees the value in each position. From this level of understanding, Libra is a natural negotiator and mediator, as it is able to hold opposite views concurrently. Allowing every voice to be heard, understood and acknowledged; and then to satisfy all involved, Libra proposes a “middle ground”. While this may sound like an easy or effortless integration, Libra is challenged with this task. The Libran can feel internal conflict and angst as it strives for this midpoint. If left alone, the Libran can spin and stress out, as it contemplates all the possibilities. Like all movement in the sky, stellar events never act alone, but are part of a web of Planets and Stars. All Full Moons are naturally opposing the Sun, which is currently in Aries. Jupiter is very close to the Moon, which serves to “expand” whatever it touches. Uranus is hanging out with the Sun, whose aim is ‘authenticity at all costs’ and supports individuality. To add a little depth and soul connection, we find Pluto at 90 degree angle to the Sun and Moon. Pluto, Lord of the Unconscious Realms, will be making the parts of ourselves left in the shadows emerge. Pluto seeks transformation and as we incorporate ‘the good, the bad, the light, and the dark’, we find greater wholeness. The Sun in Aries fire, requests that we come forth with courage to be who we are, to start a fire within and claim our essence. The Moon says, “Great work, but don’t forget that we also need to compromise and negotiate, in order to grow and feel what is truly aligned with our heart”. Pluto says, “Well given the intensity created by the energy of a Full Moon, I want to kick it up a notch and let your unconscious speak, allowing you to see what your soul wants”. Pluto continues, “In fact, I am going to ask my buddy Mars to fulfill my desires through action and will.” Mars in Taurus focuses on ‘sensory stimulation’ to move from- the breath, the urge to eat and sleep, and the basic needs of the animal in us. If our system feels any overwhelm, we are directed to turn into our ‘senses’ for guidance, and returning to the breath to ground. Venus is in retrograde motion until the 14th when it ‘stations’ to move forward again. If you have been finding yourself reviewing your values, revisiting relationships and their dynamics, and going within to find the answers, you are right on track with Venus. As Venus spins forward on the 16th, expect less review of our relationships and more clarity towards to move forward. This Full Moon puts a spotlight, just like that beam of Moonshine, on an area of your life that you could strive for more balance, and ultimately peace. If you look to 21 degrees of Libra in your natal chart, you can find the corresponding link to what house this Full Moon activates. The house will tell you the area of life that you can move towards cooperation and compromise, and honor your values while also the values of the other, to find peace. If you would like to explore your individual chart and stellar influences, please consider a reading or a report. Love, Jen |
