The Sun in Gemini at 9 degrees is in “edgy” contact with Neptune at 9 degrees Pisces. 9 degrees in numerology is a number of completion. You have reached the point of mastery and it is now time to release and let go before you transition and begin the cycle anew. With Mercury very close to the Sun, spinning backwards, it is reminding us of our thoughts and what we may need to review or readjust in our lives. As the Sun and Mercury contact Neptune with some intensity, we are called to look at the things we cannot see. The world beyond our individual selves, where boundaries dissolve and self is surrendered to the collective. In that ethereal and mystical dreamscape, where we find faith in something beyond ourselves, we are challenged to ground as earth dwellers. With Mars in close contact with the Sun, there is some conviction and passion around what we “think” and make of what appears to be the “facts” of our lives. With the versatility of Gemini and the invitation to rewrite our “known” realities from a more spiritual context, try to be open to alternative ideas and open to the synchronicities that may be trying to get your attention.
The Moon is in Scorpio today about half way through its visit until it enters “Sag” for the Full Moon in a few days. A Scorpio Moon brings up what may be lingering below the surface in our hearts. The things we may shy away from as they can be emotionally intense such as our own mortality or the shadow side of ourselves. Scorpio wants what is truly real and no BS. Pluto is flowing to the Moon, trying to support us in having a safe container to look at what lies beneath the bed or has been put away in the closet we may need to take responsibility for. So, if you have emotions rising up today, recognize it is an opportunity to bring light to the shadow places that seek to be healed as we are assisted by the loving and compassionate connection to Neptune, our antennae to the divine Spirit. Venus is also living in the ‘emotional’ terrain in Cancer seeking purity and basic emotional connection in our relationships. She wants us to feel secure to let down our protective shell and connect to others from the heart. Photo credit http://www.cruzine.com/2014/02/13/creative-concept-art-anastasiabulgakova/

The Moon has entered harmony and balance oriented Libra, the sign of the judgement scales, who desires fairness and beauty. The Moon will be stimulated by Saturn who is spending some time reviewing the greater meaning of things and how we can become more committed and responsible to our own truth. Our hearts may be inclined to learn these lessons over the next few days as we try to maintain some compromise when relating to others. We are seeking to relate to others from a rooted emotional place, if we can crack the crust of our vulnerabilities. Uranus is trying to help us to have the courage to open our hearts with others and take down our defenses. With our Solar compass currently in Gemini, we are able to consider a variety of possibilities and ideas, if we can just strike a balance with our need to be responsible and know what is right. Neptune is pushing us to reach up to the universe and remember that we are all connected in this cosmic web of energy and not to get too caught up in the little details of each moment. With Mercury in retrograde right smack next to Mars, we have the opportunity to review the facts of our lives that have passed by and engage our will to consider what is worth keeping and what no longer serves our evolution.

New Moon in Taurus at 9:13 PM PST is just shy of 27 degrees. This is old and wise Taurus, Taurus the Earth Mother, the resourceful one who knows how to survive with the basics and do it well and with ease. The Sun and Moon are near Mars in Gemini adding some kick to the long standing stability of Earth. Mars, the God of War, is in the quickest air sign, so we can start to visualize tree roots starting to sway by gust of hot air that crackle the branches. Enter Saturn, who is making quite an appearance opposing Mars and the New Moon and he is currently “retrograde” meaning he is already calling our attention inward regarding what we stand for, what is worth committing to and believing in. The message seems to guide towards service and humility, for the importance of faith and a spiritual connection are critical to navigate the shifts that are occurring. Venus, the guidepost towards relating in “feeling” oriented Cancer, is trying to awaken us to our “true” roots as she is currently “out of bounds” offering a different perspective on our current and historical family of origin imprints. Mercury is also “out of bounds” or past 23.5 degrees declination, and will be “stationing” during the New Moon ready to receive downloads from the collective intelligence as it excels in its home sign of Gemini. The Moon will transition to Gemini, pass the “stationing” Mercury who is standing still so the Moon has a chance to absorb the messages and insights right before she enters the retrograde period of introspection. We are encouraged to redo, revise, refresh, renovate but not initiate new agendas during retro-gradation. Pay attention to any ideas or flashes that come your way during the next 24 hours. The focus of intention for this New Moon can be around what are your core needs in order to “root” you and ground you, what provides nourishment and ensures your survival. Where 27 degrees Taurus falls in your chart, you can choose to release old ideas and embrace new ways to foster your being, planting new seeds to grow that are strengthened by the power of the mind and soul.
The fire is blazing today as the energy smolders under an Aries Moon. The Moon is coming in contact with it’s South Node- the past that has become habitual instinct and in efforts to grow and flourish, we are encouraged to go towards the North Node of the Moon which is currently in Libra depicting a relational theme. Collectively as the Moon interacts with the Aries South Node, we may be reminded of the warrior within us, the courageous part of us that takes risk to foster and develop the individual SELF. The Taurus Sun is being followed closely by the ruler of Aries, Mars, God of War which is casting a passionate and competitive flavor to the fire within which could feel like “ants in your pants”. Mars is opposing Saturn which we may know that anything in “opposition” could start a battle! Mars will be in defense of factual interests whereas Saturn cannot stand the triviality and may try to teach Mars about the greatness of theoretical comprehension and calculated decisions before making any moves.
Venus in Cancer is causing some friction with the Moon advising that “not everything is about you, what about hearts of those you influence?”. Neptune whispers to Venus that she is on the right track, as we are all just little specks in the great cosmic universe. As the Moon wanes approaching New Moon on Sunday, we are given the courage to “Let go of what does not serve our hearts” and relate to others from our feelings, regardless of our insecurities. Mars has moved out of the fixed sign of Taurus and into the land of Gemini. In Gemini land, we quite often find ourselves saying “well on the other hand” or “well what about this?”. The twins are curious, inquisitive and can represent duality. Mercury rules Gemini which is the fastest moving Planet and as an air sign it lives in the mental realm, leading us to find ourselves with lots of ideas and interests during this time. Mars governs our will and motivates us to make things happen. We may find ourselves coming up with so many options and a desire to do it all! Or we may become overwhelmed with all the information and potential options that we don’t do anything. The idea is to be an explorer who keeps an open mind and can quickly receiving and exchange information, not getting too fixated on any particular idea, becoming at risk of not being able to entertain new concepts. You gotta “go with the flow” and at the moment that flow will be potentially a quick stream. On the other end of that river is Saturn who is retrograde in Sagittarius. Saturn will caution us to try to come up with some overall theory, belief system or reason for it all rather than just taking it as it comes with too much frivolity. We may have some information come to light that we had not thought of before. Mercury is also in Gemini helping to open the floodgates for new information and a variety of possibilities.
The waning Pisces Moon meets up with Neptune today. Luna is receiving insights from the Planet of Spiritual Consciousness, and connection to the ALL or Universal “oneness”. Our emotional state may be more sensitive as well as more compassionate as we are prompted to “live in the NOW” for truly each breath is a gift and the past is gone and the future is not here, so live NOW! And in that NOW space, drop in and feel connected to everything from the littlest ant to the largest galaxy. As the Moon becomes entranced, Mercury will be prodding it to keep the mind busy and not drift into a meditative state for too long. So pay attention to what draws your interest and your curiosity, and follow those breadcrumbs with great passion for you never know where the road may lead. The sign of Cancer is ruled by the Moon and associated with the archetype of the Mother. How fitting that Venus, the Planet involving relationships and beauty, will be in the sign of Cancer right before Mother’s Day. As a water sign, Cancer enters the realm of emotion and will fiercely protect its’ clan. Through a mother’s sensitivity, she uses intuition to understand and respond to her offspring’s needs. It is the heart that guides her and her love that nurtures her children. Venus in Cancer wants to relate to others on the “feeling level”. Not so interested in intellectual or mental stories, it craves to know how things felt, the undercurrent of emotion. When Cancer is aware of the feelings of others, it can be supportive, providing a nest of safety. Wearing your heart on your sleeve is challenging in a “dog eat dog world”, so the Crab has a hard shell that tries to protect the tender inside from the harsh elements. If emotions get bruised, the Crab may scuttle away retreating into its shell until it can muster up the strength to feel again and rise above its insecurities. Emotional sensitivity is the sign’s greatest strength and also, its potential weakness. Creating environments that feel safe and nurturing reduces the feelings of vulnerability. The simple pleasures of warmth, affection, and a home cooked meal filled with love bring great strength and fortitude. Knowing that you have a family, a community behind you that supports you can help one thrive. So offer your care, your love, your support and your affection to those in your “clan”, appreciating the ones that “got your back”, and encourage you to trust and open your heart.
I wasn’t running to write this moons’ post and it just hit me now why that probably was the case. Scorpio Full Moon, the one that grabs at the gut to get to the core, the truth, the full drama and discourse of life. For the intensity feeds her, the mystery precludes her, intimate bonding consumes her, as she holds some amazing power and transformational energy looking to explore that which may not be conscious. This may bring with it an edge of the “uncomfortable”, the things we may push away under the rug or avoid in our lives. The reality of our impermanent existence. Scorpio walks boldly into that good night, not fearing the dark but trying to balance it with the light. For it has to know when to come up for air and “shake it off” or laugh at life. Humor is its’ greatest tool. So as we may be experiencing energy directed towards old wounds to our heart, memories of something that has now transformed, we are invited to look at that shadowy area of our lives and accept it, let it out from under the rug.
Of interest is that Scorpio is on the horizon or “rising” at the time of the Full moon. The Moon is in the 12th house, leading to boundary-less exposure of our hearts to some of the most dramatic events in our lives. Scorpio rules transformative events such as birth, death, sex, and intimacy as these types of events trigger motivations to look deeper into the psyche and reach beyond the viewable reality. Helping the Moon to expand its creativity and imagination is Neptune in flowing aspect while Pluto forms a stimulating energy in Capricorn, adding to the awareness of wounds around authority and providing for oneself. Jupiter is in Leo fighting for a desire to be like children and approach life with great creativity especially towards learning and going beyond what has been alight before, where everyone can express themselves. On the tales of Beltane on May 1st, we are also drawn to an awareness of the “flowering” around us. The blooming signifies the reproductive phase of spring calling us to celebrate life in nature with others. All the flowers are brimming with sweetness, as the many recent blooms share their pollen inviting suitors. As the Sun is in Taurus, this is a time to celebrate Mother Earth and the bounty in our lives. |
