The Full Moon in Sagittarius on May 21 at 2:14 pm is very close to Mars. The Moon is meeting up with the Planet we associate with drive and will, the fire energy that is the “oomph” in force to move you in a direction. Currently this ruler of our passions is in “retrograde” which twists that arrow around to spin in towards ourselves. We use that power to look inward, what are we yearning to act out in the world? Is there some desire that we have buried and need to “re-hatch”? How are we not taking risks and living in fear? Mars is nudging us to have a good look at what we may really desire in our lives and yet, we get caught in disbelief or fear that we can make it happen. With the recent movement of the Sun into Gemini, filling the landscape with curiosity and inquiry into the facts, we may have an opportunity to look at these matters logically. With Saturn in Sagittarius retrograde at 14 degrees, should we choose to take the assignment and determine what really holds water for us, we should find there is some order in the chaos. This is a time of consideration and clarifying what is true and dear for us and what needs to breakdown so that we can breakthrough. The grip of the Earth trine stabilizes this trembling force however we feel a certain faith that if we hold true, we will come out stronger. This back to back Full Moon series of two Sagittarius Full Moons’ is illuminating the quest for true understanding of that which we desire to know. Keep asking the questions and “to thine own self be true”.

New Moon in Taurus 12:29 PM PST
This New Moon has many Planets involved in the mix as the Moon is at 16 degrees 41 seconds Taurus, near the degree of Pluto, Jupiter, Neptune, Saturn, Mercury and Venus. In the spirit of Taurus energy we are inclined towards the Earth, the physical, and the stage where we come into awareness of our human body and how we feel in it. What does it need at any particular moment to function- water, rest, food, shelter? As we begin to engage our world and nurture our bodies, we build a sense of value and worth or self-esteem. As we come to find our ability to take care of ourselves is vital for our survival, we pay attention to what we need from the sensations of the body. With a New Moon we are always called to set some form of intention that we would like to see come to fruition at Full Moon. The helpers in that mission include Jupiter and Pluto who are forming a triangle in the sky, otherwise known as a “Grand Trine”. Triangles represent creation and the coming together of 2 forces to result in a third. Some see triangles as the “doorway” the balance point between two polarities. This New Moon will occur when the Sun is highest in the sky overhead, with the Sun and Moon forming the top of the triangle point. As it forms a triangle pointing upward, it is considered an active energy, pushing up and out. As all Trines have one element in common, this one is an Earth Trine. Pluto is rooting for doing the hard work necessary to engage deeply with what we create in our lives and the claiming of “I AM” and what that uniquely looks like to bring us joy. Jupiter makes the 3rd triangle tip encouraging us to nurture ourselves, form healthy routines, and to bring a sense of optimism and belief that we can turn spirit into matter and form. As 5 Planets are in retrograde right now including the infamous Mercury, this is a time of building the ship but not setting it to sail just yet. We want to start putting our ducks in a row, doing something each day to put us in the direction of our desires, and refining the efforts we have made. Through retracing our steps and rekindling our creative selves, we embody the vision we are putting our energy into as “energy flows where attention goes”. May this New Moon invite you to open up to your senses, reach that deep essence inside of you, and reclaim it, carrying it forward as you create your future. Starting this month off with the slow boat energy of “just take it easy”…breathing and moving slowly along your path, tuning in to what arises in the body. Rest and relaxation are highly encouraged as in the slowing down; we allow the important issues to bubble up and the messages to surface. This takes energy and while the Planets are leading us in that direction of “remembering” or “reconnecting”, we find that if we revisit things we may gain a shift in perspective. Mercury is the swift winged messenger that traverses the universe bearing information and tidings. As the information exchange unfolds it generally makes for the progress of an idea, the building of facts, the connection shared between minds that lead to the eventual necessity for more input. This rhythmic flowing of responses and inquiries is currently fighting the center of the cosmic pool pulling inward creating a reverse current. This current is slowing down the natural rhythm as it pushes the energy in another direction. This swirling back into the cocoon creates a dormancy that allows for life to pause and break that train of thought. In this energy we can pick up the morsels that may have been left behind in prior haste and welcome it back into our folds. As the quickest planet in the sky, moves in the slowest sign Taurus, we have even more reason to SLOW down. To some, slowing down seems a truly impossible feat as the demands of daily life can seem to be never ending. However, the advice here is to at minimum take a 2 second breath as the world may just halt that caboose regardless; as we all experience unavoidable delays that break our ability to move forward. This is when the small crack may have a moment to let the messages in. The stereotypical computer failure, bus delays, and telephone issues that may seem trivial in the scheme of things add up to moments where you can’t do much of anything but perhaps sit and listen. We are reminded that sometimes in order to move forward, you must move a step back, rekindle the fires and move forward more prepared than you were prior to retracing the steps. With the swiftness at which we receive information and that we are then flooded with taking it all in and sourcing our environment all the time, we often miss some of the details. As we ingest the information whence we came, we glean insights that carry us forward. This Mercury retrograde will last until it goes direct motion on May 23, but doesn’t completely leave this phase until it returns from the point it all started on June 8th, leaving the shadow period.
