Leo Moon yesterday, today and right up to about the time we kick off Solstice tomorrow. The Moon is visiting the beautiful connection we are having with Venus and Jupiter. If you see the growing Crescent Moon in the sky tonight, it will be quite easy to spot Jupiter and Venus nearby. Leo, the sign of heart felt love and pleasure is ruled by the Sun and exudes beaming warmth that can be infectious, as it shines on everything and dances with the central player of our solar system. Marry that with Venus and Jupiter, Planets that we typically look to as “good” planets, although in saying that, all Planets are neither good nor bad but guides towards potential fruition depending on how we choose to use the energy. Venus carries qualities of beauty and grace, seeking to relate and motivated to play well with others. When she is Leo she can be regal with potentials for high drama; however at her best she is creative, playful and charming. Jupiter, the great expander, is known emphasize and heighten whatever it touches so if we use this energy wisely, we may feel romantically or creatively compelled, finding a certain faith and belief in the good of man. Of course, we all have choice and this concoction could result in fierce pride around relationships, our emotional landscape, and a somewhat overly confident belief in our way edging towards narcissistic tendencies. As all things above as below do not act independently, we do have Uranus, the Awakener, in the mix flowing support directly to Jupiter. This can allow for unexpected insights and divine inspiration as Uranus is part of the collective mind stream. So connect in with your hearts, spread the love, and be open to passion play without letting your ego get the best of you. As we head towards the longest “day” of the year, we are in the “sunshine of your love”.
Sunshine of Your Love By Cream It's getting near dawn, When lights close their tired eyes I'll soon be with you my love, To give you my dawn surprise I'll be with you darling soon, I'll be with you when the stars start falling [Chorus:] I've been waiting so long To be where I'm going In the sunshine of your love I'm with you my love, The light's shining through on you Yes, I'm with you my love, It's the morning and just we two I'll stay with you darling now, I'll stay with you till my seas are dried up [Chorus] I'm with you my love, The light's shining through on you. Yes, I'm with you my love, It's the morning and just we two. I'll stay with you darling now, I'll stay with you till my seas are dried up I've been waiting so long I've been waiting so long I've been waiting so long To be where I'm going In the sunshine of your love Songwriters: BRUCE, JACK / BROWN, PETER CONSTANTINE / CLAPTON, ERIC PATRICK © Warner/Chappell Music, Inc.

This New Moon will be in Gemini at 25 degrees, the mutable sign with the archetype of the Twins. As this sign is so quick it needs one twin to take in information as the other twin just can’t stop chatting. Extremely mental with a youthful vibrancy and curiosity, this sign keeps it moving. Lock a Gemini in a room without a book to read or any stimulation and you have a recipe for disaster. It craves quick and changeable stimulus to match it’s fast pace, as it is ruled by the fastest planet Mercury. With the Moon in Gemini, we have an opportunity to set intentions around opening our hearts and minds to feel and see things from a different and potentially refreshing perspective. As adults we can become so hardened in our approach and ideas, seeking safety and comfort in the “known”, however the ever-changing malleable quality of Gemini suggests we release this hardened grip and pretend for a moment we don’t know. What new ideas could fill our heart space if we approached our world with utter amazement and intrigue? Is it possible we can take off our “polarized” sunglasses and put on rose colored glasses, how would our hearts shift if we truly saw the beauty and amazing qualities of each human being? If we truly became curious and open without judgment about each person that crossed our path, what might happen? Not only is the Moon right next to the Sun as it always is on New Moon, but Mars is also joining the bandwagon. Mars is the active red Planet known for drive and will. We have all heard “Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus”. What this speaks to rather than defined gender constants as all women have a Mars and men have a Venus, is the more active or yang expression. Mars is a force, a fiery outward energy that carries a bold persistence to address whatever may cross its path. If Mars is in Gemini, this can translate to fierce intrigue to respond quickly on its feet to ideas and a flexibility to adjust as needed to continue to incorporate whatever new information lay before it. Not an energy you would want to debate with as it will continue to bring in different facts until you wear yourself out. So for us individually, this Moon (our hearts) matched up with Mars (our drive), we will be granted the courage and will to open our hearts to that which we may not have considered. We are not looking for sophisticated theories or profound philosophies but simple “Ah-has” seeming very basic but ultimately contain nuggets of whimsy that lead us away from stagnation and boredom. How have our hearts become stale? How could a loving kiss from the Sun and Mars kick start our passions and ignite our hearts desires?
So during this New Moon phase, allow yourself to relax and get curious, try to pretend you are 5 or 6 years old and let your heart be guided by whatever comes forth to get your attention. The answers are not as important as the questions. Keep your eyes and ears open, get a move on if you feel compelled to take a walk in the park or take a risk to look at unexplored areas of your heart and mind. It is here, Saturn has moved back into Scorpio in its retrograde movement from Sagittarius. Sagittarius’ element is fire that is ignited by a quest for theoretical information, fed by a greater sense of what may be going on beyond the earthy physical existence. By zodiac order, Sagittarius is after Scorpio where we take the deep dive into the unconscious, the shadow, and places of intimacy with ourselves and others. The transition of the Planet Saturn who commands discipline and structural order leading to laws and firm boundaries, has shifted his energy out of passionate, adventurous and optimistic Sagittarius to focused interrogative, powerful, and psychological Scorpio. In Scorpio, we approach living primarily from ground zero where we hold our root emotions that can unknowingly guide our expression of who we are or what we are trying to heal. We are now revisiting this emotional psychological tone that we left on December 24, 2014 when Saturn moved into Sagittarius. The last time Saturn was retrograde or defined as “spinning backwards” in relation to the Earth, was July 20, 2014 at 16 degrees Scorpio that began Mar 3, 2014 at 23 degrees Scorpio. Saturn entered Scorpio October 2012. The questions have come from looking “out there” or above and beyond in Sagittarius to “in here” or below, and what lies beneath tugging at your psyche. The gift of Saturn is that he is noble and orderly, providing a stable point to launch into what could be some murky terrain. Whether we actually are aware of the murkiness, it can have a very powerful influence in our lives, refusing to be swept under the carpet when the going gets tough or we are faced with emotional dramas. Saturn holds the steady and contained life raft to allow us to discover these subconscious motives with a respected elder by our side. His greatest desire is for us to be committed and responsible to learn the lessons that are invoked in us through our sometimes uncomfortable emotional impulses. Saturn has given us the past six months in Sagittarius to discover what we really stand for and explore that which we may know or think we know regarding our belief system. Now he has decided we may need to drop in again and have a psychological “check up”. Are we taking responsibility for the power dynamics that exist in our lives? Are we truly honest with what makes our psychology tick and get triggered? How can we hold the magnifying glass up to the emotional imprints that influence our psyche, and then dissect them, challenge them, in order to build a cohesive landscape reflective of what we are now? Saturn will not be in Scorpio again for another 29 years, so this is an opportunity to hold space around our deep selves and let it heal. Over the next 3 months, Saturn may guide you to some intense places. If we can remember to proceed with discipline into the shadow looking to learn rather than run, you may find the scary monsters we have constructed are purely little pests that may start to diminish their influence on our psyches. When you find yourself in an emotionally uncomfortable place, try to dig deeper. For example, if you find yourself completely outraged by a car cutting you off and just can’t seem to let it go, what really may be going on for you? Setup a safe and contained space where you can explore these feelings, remembering that Lord Saturn is trying to help you rebuild these myths that may no longer serve the evolving you.
Oh the popularized “Mercury Retrograde”. This astrological event has seemed to make its way into the mainstream awareness along with Sun sign astrology. As of June 11th, Mercury went direct or rather than moving backwards in relation to Earth, it is now moving forward. However, as in our lives when shifts occur, it isn’t just ON and then OFF. It is a phase or transition that doesn’t have sharp endings and beginnings, but rather small steps that eventually lead to a different direction. Such is the case for Mercury- while it is now moving along with the “normal” rhythm again, it still has some catching up to do to get back where it started prior to going “retro”. It is currently at 4 degrees Gemini and started its journey of recollection at 13 degrees so it must make its way back through those past moments to be fully on track again. This will happen around June 27th. Our thinking and communication shall start to flow with greater ease; however there still may be some tricky moments of misunderstanding. As this latest retrograde was in Gemini, ruler of Mercury, it seemed to be quite intense as anytime a Planet is in its “home” sign, it can have some extra oomph as it knows exactly how to leverage those energies. Mars has also been in Gemini and, especially at the end of May was close enough to Mercury to add just the right amount of fuel to the fire of the inquisitive “monkey mind”.
Today we see Mars very close to the Sun, which is the “yang” or outward force, the will, illuminated and energized by the Sun’s golden rays. We may be experiencing a drive to ‘get out there’ and be active, to play within the arena of information and dialogue. We may feel especially chatty or interested in considering all possible facts or we may feel inclined to take a short trip, even if that trip may be to the corner store or library. We may want to be “fed” information and are encouraged to get really “curious” as we move about this beautiful world. Aquarius, the sign that recognizes we all have our unique cravings and parts of ourselves that might not “fit” in with everyone else, and at times may make us feel like an outsider OR it may be that compelling part of ourselves that others of the herd flock to for they are intrigued by what may be seen as “special”. As a mental sign, it can be known to come up with almost genius ideas as it shakes the molds we conform to leading to new invention and change. As the Moon visits here today, our emotions, our hearts are called to put on “tilt-shift” glasses, to take a step back to see the overall view, and be guided by our unconventional feelings. With the influence of a little bit of mental detachment towards our emotions, we can gain perspective as to what may want to emerge from our hearts and be reclaimed. The part of us we may consider “weird” or “strange” or “obscure”.
Venus has just moved into the sign of Leo from sensitive, emotional and protection-oriented Cancer. Leo is the 5th sign in the zodiac and it is where we start to incorporate the other for as we know Leo needs an audience for which to express its creativity and passionate love. Venus in Leo is playful, warm-hearted as it is ruled by the Sun and its element is fire. We associate the child with Leo which denotes youthful vigor and images of “building sand castles”, “playing hopscotch” and “tic tac toe”. In these moments, energy can be free flowing as one engages in the creative process. So in your relationships with others, it is time to PLAY and LOVE like a child with simple expression and untamed affection. When we find Venus opposing the Moon we know that oppositions are not inherently “bad”, but they do require balance. So as we play with ourselves and others, we also need to be open to inviting new ways to approach the game or alternative ideas into the mix. As we are not the sole shining star but part of a constellation where we all can shine brightly together. #Leo #Aquarius Moon #Venus in Leo #Astrology #Moon sign Photo source: http://www.youwall.com/?ver=MzUxOQ== |
