New Moon in Cancer on 6/23/2017 at 7:30 PM Cancer is the 1st emotional sign we find on the zodiac wheel. We move from Fire/Aries, Earth/Taurus, Air/Gemini, to arrive at the 4th sign- Water/ Cancer. It is water in liquid form, flowing and ebbing with the tides. The animal is the Crab, who has the sweetest, tender inside, and a hard calcified shell on the outside. This shell is in constant rhythm with nature, and can completely fall away when it has been outgrown. “E Motion” implies movement and flow with “motion” and that does describe some of the quality of our emotions, they vacillate, arise and fall, shift and turn. From this pure, raw emotion, we find the Mother Archetype. In our greatest vulnerabilities in youth, when we cannot survive on our own, it is Mother who protects and nurtures us. The heart connects in Cancer, it FEELS. With a New Moon in Cancer, it is a blank slate from which to set your intentions to manifest at FULL Moon. In the theme of Cancer, we can look at how we mother and nurture ourselves. How we might put up a protective shell when we feel vulnerable or ‘scuttle’ away like a crab. We may want to consider how we can allow ourselves to embrace our feelings, to trust in the flow, and use the power of Cancer to stay emotionally present. Find the house this falls in your birth chart to find where you are being asked to open, to let in, and feel into as purely and with raw intuition to what is being seeded. Free charts can be found at astro.com. Cancer rules the Moon so this is a great time to honor the Moon that guides us every day. With love, Jen

Last Quarter Moon in Pisces 6/17/17 As the Moon forms a 90 degree angle or “SQUARE” to the Sun, we find the illumination of the Moon is partly lit now. Each night it is lit up less and less as the Moon heads towards New Moon. During Last Quarter, we see ½ of what we did at FULL, reminding us that the harvest has bloomed; parts are dying away and returning to the dark. At this time in the journey of the Moon, we are in between FULL and NEW. We can see what flourished at FULL in what we harvested, but it starts to lose that sweetness, that punch, found at FULL. The harvest is still alive, but parts are starting to decay. We have a sense that we are preparing for a new beginning as things die off, so we turn in and review the journey in preparation of releasing and seeding new life. This Moon meets up with Chiron in Pisces. Chiron is the Centaur often nicknamed the “Wounded Healer”. He had a wound that would not heal. Through working with this type of pain and irritation, and arriving at acceptance, Chiron learned that through healing himself, he could help others. With the energy of Pisces, that seeks to dissolve all boundaries, live in the present moment, and connect with everything, we may be feeling our wounding and also the wounds of everyone and everything. Coming from this place of 'interconnectedness' and the acceptance of wounds, we develop compassion for ourselves and others. With heartfelt compassion, we can heal ourselves and create space for others to heal. Releasing the expectation that we should be ‘perfect’ embraces the reality of human existence, and growth. Naturally, when the Moon and Sun are in ‘hard’ aspect to each other, there is a friction between the head or ego (Sun) and the Moon (Heart). We are advised to listen to both, knowing that the deeper we can open to our emotional feelings, we can become more integrated in how we identify (Sun). From this point of emotional awareness and contemplation, we can let go of what does not serve us, have gratitude for the journey and prepare for the New Moon in Cancer on June 23rd. |
