The Moon is visiting Virgo today. Virgo is about taking action in the physical world, putting one foot in front of the other, serving the self and others while maintaining a humble perspective. This is the master crafter, the one who is willing to go the distance to perfect something without losing interest or giving up. Therefore, to adopt a sense of discernment that allows one to be aware of how something could be chiseled and made into the great masterpiece. When attuned to how something could be improved, this can be a great gift as Virgo can see where to put our attention and effort. This knowledge if taken out of balance can lead to feelings of inadequacy and worry that nothing will ever be quite right. As a mental sign ruled by Mercury, the lesson is to ground oneself in the physical arena, and produce something tangible without getting stagnant and overwhelmed by all the possible outcomes and ways of approaching a task. As the Moon is confronted by Chiron in Pisces, there is a focus on healing. To apply the principles of Virgo to healing, we can be humble with ourselves knowing that we are works in progress. If we can choose to take little steps that bring us toward our own perfection, we can start to embrace the wound and see it as an opportunity for growth. Committing to daily attention and the willingness to serve for the greater good brings peace to Virgo. Pluto wants to help out in any way he can as he also is working on the physical plane in Capricorn. He is confronting Venus in Cancer which is bringing to light what we value and desire in the world from our feelings. How can we honor our emotions and build our empire? What great work would be aligned with what our heart values? Mars transition into Scorpio recently has put some force behind our convictions. Transitioning from compromising Libra to intense Scorpio has given our will some guts. Armed with a sense of conviction and passion, our will to carry out our goals and make decisions has improved. As the Sun in Leo and Jupiter are blindsiding Mars, we may have some conflict over wanting to play, create and express ourselves enthusiastically and the push to take it one step deeper. As Leo can have the naiveté of a child, Scorpio wants to keep it real. Much of this is connection is fiery so there will be no shortage of heat and intuitive bursts. The lesson is to remain playful and open to one's creative gifts while also being ready to slay the dragon should it cross your path. Some shadows may come to light and if we can hold the childlike optimistic flashlight and forge forward, we may just get to where we want to go.

Cancer Moon is in it's last slivers as the moon wanes to complete darkness tomorrow for the New Moon. In it's journey, it will contact Mercury, Saturn and Chiron that are all in water. Mercury in Cancer keeps emotional awareness around feelings as we take in information through the filter of water. As we know communication is primarily non verbal and communicating through water means that we may need to slow down. Like scuba divers or children playing tea party underwater in a pool, we resort to hand signals and gestures. We feel the embracing bouyancy, soothing sensations reminiscent of being in the womb and healing qualities of water where we experience the vibration of sound and sight more directly with a layer of water around us. We are primarily made of water so the connection to our core emotions is almost instantaneous. Saturn and Chiron have been in water trying to align us with psychological states and heal our wounds. They are requesting we get responsible, disciplined, and recognize our injuries as offering an opportunity to connect with ourselves as beings of light. If we can avoid becoming overwhelmed or down trodden through adversity, and accept the transformation from life experiences that result from unforeseen gifts and growth as we become stronger and heal. The energy from the life giving Sun is radiant as it recently transitioned to Leo. Leo rules the Sun so they are celebrating their annual reunion as Leo loves a good party. Met by Jupiter, known as the Second Sun, due to it's large size, the Sun's energy is given a steroid boost or adrenaline rush. Magnifying the qualities of being the leader, the child, the actor, the King, and the artist, we are encouraged to shine outwardly the components of ourselves that want to claim this time on stage and feel admiration and attention. As with all expressions, there is a shadow potential and with Leo this can bring about narcissism. It is truly healthy to have a vibrant ego and keeping ourselves in balance is the magic key. We have been experiencing a lot of Cardinal initiatory energy requesting us to kickstart our engines. The energy of Leo is fixed and keeps the fires burning. So whatever new endeavors, feelings or goals you may have recently embarked upon, harness the fires of Leo to keep moving into those areas with vigor while maintaining the perspective of a playful, optimistic and radiant child.
And then the tree started to grow deep roots down down down into the soil. Rich, dark, cool earth that gave the base a structure. Saturn has gone direct. Saturn is the builder, the foundation, the organizational rules that lead to amazing creations such as the pyramids. Saturn is in the sign of Scorpio and that calls to mind deep psychological themes. Scorpio seeks to know what is lying below the surface and connects with a keen intuitive knowing that compels one to speak of what others may not be able to see. This can make for powerful investigators and people willing to work with parts of humanity others could not handle on a daily basis, and they flourish and do incredible work with great focus on detail. For us going through this transit with Saturn being retrograde, our turning of this type of focus was felt internally, on ourselves. Dark shadow work may have been speaking to you. Experiences may have been asking you to be responsible and some issues around attachment and loss could have taken a seat at the table. The latest influx of Cancer energy may have brought in some old, young emotional themes. Cancer is associated with healing. Chiron the wounded healer is flowing with Saturn indicating that we can bring the incorporated and integrated wound to the world and offer healing to ourselves and others. As Saturn turns direct we start to feel the ground beneath our feet getting more rooted. Plant your garden. Spend some time feeling your feet and pushing those roots deep, for they will support and sustain you allowing you to connect to the world around you that wants to witness your leaves and branches swaying in the wind.
"Let's go!" "Move em out!" "Ready set go!" says the Aries Moon. Not known for endless patience but rather like a finger on the trigger, Aries is ready to thrust into a direction without a lot of forethought. And thank heavens for that as sometimes we need to forge ahead without holding back. If we were to consider all the possible outcomes, we may not make a move. This cannot be more true than in war where one may not enter the battlefield if truly cognizant that they may end their life. The goal of Aries is to develop courage and become the fearless warrior. The Moon will engage in the theme of balance between self and other as it sits opposite Mars in Libra. Seeking to find the harmony between opening oneself to the compromise of relationship and not losing oneself. Taking down the shields of self protection just enough to be vulnerable to another. Walking down the road of relationship without merging paths. Keeping one's individuality a mist the inspiration and engagement with another. The Moon will also pass by Uranus who indicates to Luna that you can maintain your authentic self and there may be a new way of doing just that. As the Sun in Cancer wants to act based on consideration of feelings, the Moon desires to come from fiery inspiration and courageous action so your head and your heart may have differing agendas today. Venus moves into Cancer today where it will remain until August 12th. Relating from our heart space is emphasized with this placement. So while we experience the theme of balance in relationships and expression of self, we are reminded that we need to integrate the emotions. Mercury is also residing in Cancer bolstering the expression of one's feelings when communicating. Next month, all this Cancer energy will shift to fiery Leo. Now is the time to listen to what feelings may be bubbling to the surface, accept them as transient and flowing, as well as important symbols of where we are emotionally vulnerable and open, while seeking to expand the heart.
Jupiter, the largest planet besides the Sun, goes into Leo today from Cancer. Cancer is ruled by the reflective, passive Moon and Leo is ruled by the vibrant, active Sun. Cancer has a softer, internal, feeling flavor to it so this time spent in Cancer may have brought out emotions from a core level. Emotions around family of origin, your modern family, and the source of your raw emotional experience may have been coming up in the past year starting on June 26, 2013. Today we enter a new realm, fiery Leo. Leo from the get go has a more outward style than Cancer. Leo is associated with the Child, the Artist, the King and it has the desire to express and shine it's light to the world. If we take the archetype of the child, we have an opportunity to revisit our inner child. For the first 7 years of our lives, we are somewhat like open vessels, taking in the world around us from a place of pure wonder, awe and simple pleasure. We find great happiness in the little things - a cherished toy or doll, the taste of applesauce, swinging on a swing set, playing hopscotch, watching a bird, a lick from a dog, playing in the sand or mud, finger painting, or making bubbles. These experiences can bring about great thrill and bliss. As we also know, children can also act out and have temper tantrums since the containment of emotions has not yet been learned. As we age, we start to lose touch with pure childhood jubilation. We also become concerned with what others think of us and restrict our natural creativity. However, that child still lives inside us yearning to be reclaimed. . As we grow to become complex adults, we can really start to twist our expressions of our childhood. We may have a simple disagreement with someone and it goes to a really dramatic level as it has triggered something from the initial childhood experience that we may have buried deep inside us. With Jupiter in Leo, the Planet of expansion and growth, we can invite our child to come out and play. If we can take off our adult identities, and engage in the things that brought us happiness as children, we can grow to become happier adults. If we go too far, the shadow side of Jupiter is over expansion, we may find ourselves creating drama in our lives just for the sake of drama like a child having a meltdown. If we open ourselves up to the child that longs to be heard and expressed, we may fall in love with life. Leo is also associated with love and we can welcome pure, innocent expressions of love for ourselves and others. So get out that chalk and paint the sidewalks, play a game of hide and seek with your friends, color with crayons, anything that brings back that youthful, loving, joyful place inside you for Jupiter will be applauding you until August 10, 2015 when it moves into Virgo.
As above, so below. We have 6 Planets in Water signs, well 7 if you include Asteroid Chiron. Could this be the Universe's response to the drought in California? One thing is for sure is that we are drilling for water like never before in California which may affect the San Andreas Fault. Water is so critical to our survival. Be conservative when you can. Mercury, planet of communication, moved into watery Cancer from Gemini a few days ago. Mercury is ruled by Gemini so it would have been quite fond of that placement. As it takes on the energy of Cancer, we can experience our conversations with others and thoughts blanketed in a more emotional tone. In the very early morning, the Moon will chat with Mercury to listen to the stories and information of what feelings are surfacing for us. Our beloved Moon in Pisces today is hugging Neptune. This can offer us an opportunity to open our hearts in compassion and service to ourselves and others. We also have the potential to daydream, drift, or become caught in a web of illusion so keep your feet firmly planted on the ground. This won't last long as in the afternoon, the Moon will meet up with Pluto who is prompting soul growth and deep intensity into what we may be aligning ourselves with that we think is what we "should" be doing in order to be "successful" in the world. Pluto wants us to look at the structures in our lives and make sure they are serving our highest good as we become more efficient and responsible. Are we building a castle that will sustain and match our soul's desires? In the evening, continuing on with the theme of deep soul work and restructuring, the Moon meets up with Saturn. Saturn will want us to express and create something on the physical plane that depicts our souls intentions. While this seems like a lofty task, we will get assistance from Chiron who believes we can have faith in our wounds and that will bring us into profound healing and service. Saturn will soak up this awareness and give us confidence to look at the dark places and like a wise sage, prompt us to shine our light and not be afraid of the dark.
Super Duper!! This Full Moon will appear larger as it is closer to Earth than other times of the year for the next 3 months. Will we be able to see the difference? We may notice a visual difference or it may appear to be just about the same. What we do know is that based on proximity of it's energy being closer to Mother Earth, we may feel the effects more intensely. At the Cancer New Moon, we focused on connecting with our hearts and embracing our emotions. From there we set intentions to heal our hearts through love whether that involved expanding, releasing or calling in love. Now the Moon is getting ready to flower, to blossom, to show up as large and radiant as it can be for us. As in all Full Moons, it is opposite the radiant Sun, allowing for the entire face to be illuminated. The sign opposite the Cancer Sun is Capricorn, the wise elder, the responsible one, the one who achieves greatness through hard work and discipline and desires to work on the physical, material plane. This can cause a physical manifestation as a result of the seeds we planted during the New Moon. If we have done the hard work of being honest with our emotions, softened our hearts, called up wounds and potential restrictions to be healed by the energy of love, we may experience a great blessing under this Full Moon. Something intangible, such as emotion, wants to move into the realm of the physical or tangible. It craves something REAL, something we can see and touch. The energy of Capricorn calls up structure and form and the archetypal glyph looks a bit like a cross with a tail pointing into the Earth, our base as Earth Dwellers. The vibration of Capricorn and Cancer is "Cardinal" which has an initiatory spark that creates a new cycle, leading to change, and guiding us in a new direction. The Moon's Nodal axis, which carries the energy of where we have been and who we are to become, is also in Cardinal signs of Libra and Aries. The Libra and Aries axis highlights the balance between self and other, interdependence and independence, our individuality and our relationships. We are being tasked to break out of the hardened, conditioned, habitual approaches to relating. Mars in Libra, hugging the North Node or where we can develop collectively in this life, is applying a lot of force and will in finding compromise with other. Uranus in Aries, approaching the South Node which represents the familiar reactions and habitual ways of showing up in the world, is asking all of us to break free from the ways we have hardened ourselves as individuals. Liberate, break out of the chains that bind you, be bold and courageous to climb a new mountain. The implication that the Sun and the Moon are squaring the Nodal axis, forming a Cardinal X, is an opportunity to put forth a new road map, open to new possibilities and jump on the powerful thrust of energy to start anew. The squaring angle of the Sun and Moon to the Nodal Axis means somehow we may have missed or "skipped" shining our light in relationships or with self, accepting to be in the shadows or scurrying away when the going got tough. We may had or have the tendency to approach our emotions from a place of logic and certainty rather than from a flowing, dynamic, vulnerable place. We have the opportunity now to reach for the stars, transform our conditioning and move into the new light of day.
Sagittarius, the adventurous seeker of knowledge and meaning rules the Moon today so we may feel a little fire in our hearts to go towards greater truths or fight for what we believe in. Neptune is prodding the Moon to stay compassionate and deepen the connection with spirit rather than fall prey to some temporary relief of shopping, eating sweets, or anything that alters the body and minds experience of reality. Mars is seeking to have harmony in relationships through bringing new information to the table as it connects with Venus in Gemini. Communications can be frank and forthright without needing to go into too much depth although by tomorrow the heart will want more depth and understanding when the Moon opposes Mercury. Mercury will be quite happy to jump around from topic to topic and keep the banter moving, however, the Moon will want more integration of all the thoughts and some integration of the feelings behind them.
There is a water triangle or trine backdrop affecting all of us now striving for healing and emotional release. The triangle is formed by the Sun in Cancer, Saturn in Scorpio, and Chiron in Pisces. Water relates to the emotions and emotions are fluid like water. The 3 Planets are causing a little ripple in the river to circulate. As emotions ebb and flow, taking on the energy and shape of their surroundings, and can even produce water or tears though great laughter or sadness. Allowing the wounds we carry to surface, the dark shadows to be safe and contained, and keeping an open heart, we can find our experience to be momentary. If we embrace the feelings and not push them down river, we may find great healing release. If things come up that are emotional and we have to sit for awhile in the ripples, we can proceed at our own pace, once we realize the pool is not too deep and the emotions will move on to new shores. "X marks the spot" and that X is being formed by the Moon and Chiron opposing each other on one axis and Pluto and the Sun opposing each other. The Moon in Virgo wants to purify through its earthly, consistent analytical approach towards health, daily routines, and moving towards perfection. At the other end of the see saw is Chiron in Pisces who seeks to heal his wounds through the lens of mysticism, spiritual connections, and compassion. The Moon and Chiron have the same agenda, greater wholeness and healing, however Virgo will approach healing through the physical, material and tangible behaviors and Pisces will approach healing through the non-physical connections with spirit via dreams, prayer, or meditation. Individually, we can aim to integrate our physical and spiritual behaviors. The Pluto/Sun opposition presents a balancing of the individual self focused on feelings and nurturing in Cancer and Pluto who seeks to transform our responsibilities and accepted truths. The Planet of Power and Soul, Pluto is wrestling with our individual egos and the light that shines out, requesting it look at the shadows or subconscious aspects of the soul and integrate our darkness with the light. Pluto wants to stir the outward facing, solar ego, to look at and rebuild our structures of responsibility and be willing to go deeper into the unconscious to bring greater balance. Of particular interest is that both of these opposing planets are in the elements of water and earth. Water and Earth resemble more yin, internal feminine energy making this conflict affect us a little more on the reflective, subtleties. Opposition from our initial understanding references the opponent or the one you are in conflict with who does not see eye to eye with you. When we approach opposition from a metaphysical perspective, we learn that the adversity has commonality. For in the mere fact that they stand in direct polarity with each other there is a bridge of connection, an interplay. Seek to bring your ego and unconscious together by embracing both the physical you and the deep aspects of your soul. Watch for signs and symbols, messages from spirit as you move about your world to allow greater wholeness of all that is you. July 1st Mercury appears to be turning itself forward again, from its sojourn in retrograde motion. It is a phase referred to as "stationing" as it doesn't just apply the brakes and put the pedal to the metal in drive. It puts the car in neutral as it makes the transition from reverse to forward. The time of reviewing, revising, and reorganizing has started to shift and we can now start integrating the wisdom, however painful or liberating, we felt during the past three weeks. We want to carry with us the information discovered from gazing inward and slowing down, by choice or by circumstance of events that seemed to halt or compromise efforts and efficiency. We are about to start cruising down the highway again, but before we do, we may have worn some grooves on the tire tread that come to light as we change direction. The tread wear could cause some noticeable bumps and turbulence so we should wait a few days to put projects and goals underway, allowing for the shift to completely transpire. We can sit in the middle, looking at where we have been and what we have learned and starting to lay down the road map looking off to the horizon and planning where we want to go. As we reach the midpoint of this calendar year, we would be wise to check in with ourselves and those new year resolutions, aspirations, dreams, visions and goals. As we reach the midpoint of the year, we have been given the opportunity to check in with ourselves. Mercury is in contact with the Moon's nodes, or the points on the ecliptic that reflect our habits, tendencies, and skills that we bring into this lifetime as well as the way we are to grow into greater wholeness. As Mercury, the winged messenger, listens to these growth points, we become connected to the greater cosmic lesson of balancing our individual self and our relationships with others. Finding that perfect balancing point in acknowledgement of the self and connection with another is part of our collective mission at this time. |
