New Moon in Libra 9/23/14 11:14 PST
Balance refers to the midpoint between black and white, good and bad, yin and yang. It is to find that sweet spot which holds the opposites in the perfect harmony. Like being on a see-saw or teeter totter and that moment when each person on either end is not "up" or "down" but hanging in the middle, floating from the weight being equally distributed to either side. This is the objective with Libra, to weigh in right at the middle. It does not want to favor either pole but rather incorporate each energy into the mix equally. This is no easy task. We typically fall somewhere along the spectrum, but rarely right in the "perfect" middle. With the ruler of Libra, Venus, in perfection and detailed oriented Virgo, we may feel pressured to "get it right" and find the exact middle. We may judge ourselves or others for not being completely at center. Like anything else, there is always a shadow potential and with Libra, when one is at that balanced point, they may not want to commit to anything but the middle. "Pick a side already, what are you waiting for?" The opposite sign Aries, says "have some courage". Venus in Virgo will want the Libra Moon to consider matters related to health and routines. There is always room for improvement concerning our health and how we spend our time daily. How can we bring those aspects of our lives into greater balance? What small step towards improving ourselves could bring rewards that inspire us to continue to bring ourselves into a place of harmony and peace? Venus is synonymous with love and as humans, we all need love. The band Cloud Cult has a great song called "Breakfast With My Shadow" which has a line in the lyrics "And all the mosquitoes know I love you, Can I love me just as much?". We have an opportunity from the cosmos to bring balanced love and harmony into our relationship with self and other. At the New Moon, we have a blank slate, an empty canvas that we can find the places a little out of balance in our lives and set our intentions. If there is an area of your life you want to balance out, first accept the disharmony, don't shame it or push it away. For as humans we are always growing and becoming. Through recognizing where we may have gotten off track, we can make a correction which starts to bring us to a place of greater peace and love.

Equinox
The equal, the balanced, the split, the half, and the zero point. The light of the golden Sun will shine for the same length of time as the dark night today. Everywhere on Earth will experience 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark. . At 7:28 PM PST, Earth will be at the last degree and second of Virgo -29 degrees, 59 seconds. Moments later, it will transition to Libra which is the 7th sign. This will mark the completion of traveling through the first 6 signs of the Zodiac, starting at Aries, halfway through the zodiac. As an opportunity to harness the balanced energy of the day, look at what could bring you greater peace by being in harmony with the natural balance and order of life. It is a time of reflection on how far we have come so far this year and where we are going. Do we need to adjust ourselves to bring our lives into greater balance? How can we be in harmony with the needs of self and other? For the past 6 months, we have been shining light on themes of the self in terms of who we are (Aries), how we gain our resources and self-esteem (Taurus), how we communicate and think (Gemini), what home means to us (Cancer), what gives us pleasure (Leo), what shall we create (Leo), how can we refine our skills and be of service to other (Virgo), and how will we provide for ourselves (Virgo)? Our wounds may have been brought to the surface during this time of exploration of the self. The goal is to accept the wounds, learn from them, integrate them, have faith in a divine force and offer a path of healing for ourselves. This healing then becomes a gift we can offer to heal others. The Sun is now ready to transition into Libra which begins a cycle outside the personal self, focusing now a little farther out into the external world where we start to unravel themes that appear from our interactions out in the world, a shift from “inner growth” to “the outer growth”. Over the next 6 months, we may experience themes on relating with others (Libra), deep intimacy with another and the unconscious (Scorpio), seeking knowledge and forming our life vision (Sagittarius), developing our contribution to the world (Capricorn), forming communities (Aquarius), connecting with the mystical universe or the god of your understanding (Pisces). Use the equality of the day’s light and evening’s dark to bring balance into your life and the life you share with others. The Moon enters Cancer today at around 10 am PST. She is waning or dissolving back into herself, fading into the dark. She just moved past the Last Quarter in Gemini, her last distinct conflict with the Sun as she locks into that perfect hard angle to form herself half illuminated from Earth. Inherent in one half of her being is the sun’s light and the other half is dark causing the dichotomy, shall she act outwardly or look internally? Is it time to push through barriers or just let go and fade out? Gemini, in its duplicitous nature will give her lots of options as the Moon is at a crossroads. Shall we put another quarter in the jukebox and dance or head home accepting the cards we have been dealt and call it a night? After a bit of social Gemini conversation, Luna moves into home loving and nurturing Cancer. The Cancer Moon meets up with Neptune in Pisces who tells of tales of the sea, the waxing and waning of the tides, and the great abyss. Encouraging the Moon to allow the feelings to come up and fall away, and delve into the infinite vibration connecting us all. From the heels of the Pisces Full Moon, we have all been reminded of old wounding, where we feel less than or injured, and have an opportunity to heal and return to wholeness as we experience divine connection to everything and everyone in the universe.
Mars has made a sign change from Scorpio to Sagittarius. This shifts our drive from the deep waters of the soul to an adventurous passionate force igniting a thirst for knowledge and a desire to go on a quest. This quest may be physical or it can be a mental and embodied journey to find and expand our perceived world. The Moon in Cancer who loves security and the grounding roots of home is a little unsure of the Sagittarian who wants to leave the nest like a Gypsy, and contemplate and pontificate the meaning of life. Cancer is a watery emotional sign that like to feel safe and bring more pure emotion to our experience as the Martian desire emerges to begin to synthesize the worldly experience, beyond the personal and into the many and varied experiences of human existence. As we become aware of our deep rooted feelings, we may as well feel this shift towards moving beyond our boundaries, our known realities, inspired to travel new roads, seize the totality of the moment, and ride that new horse into a foreign land. Pisces, the sign of compassion, dreaming, all things ethereal, the mystical, intangible, energy of spirit that dances between the expansive ocean of our world and the astral plane, or universe above and beyond. As the 12th sign of the zodiac, it is the last sign, where the goal is to surrender to experience as beings of light, and return to connections with spirit. Through approaching the world without boundaries and feeling the energy of others, Pisces can embody compassion. When tuned into the universal flow, it functions as a divine pathway of intuitive knowing guided by spirit. Managing this information in a world built on the tangible, factual realities, can cause Pisces to be vulnerable to escape, addiction, and delusion. Communing with spirit and listening to intuition may take time and entail the challenging journey to surrender trust in the universe, beyond three dimensional reality, as this is the Pisces call. In this communion comes great healing and universal love. Opening and surrendering can bring about bliss.
This Full Moon is directly next to Chiron, the asteroid of the Centaur, known as the “wounded healer” and represent our healing power. Through working with our wounds and the embarking on the journey toward healing, we becomes stronger and then are able to heal others through our mastery of working with the vulnerable, restorative process of a wound. We are reminded of our deepest, core wounding during this Full Moon. Depending on where we are in our healing process and acceptance of our wound, the impact may vary in intensity. The opportunity is to trust and accept our imperfections, the part of us that may be bruised, tender, where we feel self-doubt and limitation to feeling whole. We all have wounds, for it is a natural part of being human. The purpose is to transcend our weakness into strength that becomes our gift and ultimately our road to spiritual healing. Saturn is offering easy flowing support to look at where we may need to address issues of control, our power, and our deep unconscious. Saturn wants to offer the rooting to look at what lies below the surface dirt. If we uncover the motivating emotional templates that reflect our habitual tendencies, we can begin to refine our behaviors to evolve our soul’s growth. As the universe is providing this energy for everyone, it is implied that we are ready to take this opportunity should we be willing. If we avoid learning from Saturn and reject the discipline and hard work to build a solid foundation, we may have feelings of lack and restriction leading to frustration. Ideally if we can commit to restructuring and refining ourselves through harnessing faith to connect with spirit allows us to courageously and honestly look at our flaws, love ourselves despite our wounding, and bring about less pain and suffering for ourselves and others. For just one person ripples waves that impact the ALL. Look up where 16 degrees Pisces falls in your chart and anticipate the exposure of wounds in that area of life. Through healing this area, we can crystalize our healing power and renew our spiritual lifeline.
