Saturn is about to leave its 2.5 year sojourn in Scorpio. This is a pretty big deal. As Saturn is the Lord of Karma, the Elder, and the Task Master, he has been spending time in the shadow arena, the psychological terrain, the dark places since October 2012. Our psyche is deep- holding the conscious and unconscious memories and compulsions, desires and taboos, and to some extent behavioral patterning. When Saturn is at the wheel, he wants us to be disciplined and responsible for what we may have repressed, and where we may have become excessive and try to “trim the fat”. Through holding a stable anchor and offering a guiding hand, he advises us to chip away at the shadows, the lost or fragmented remnants of our souls and root into what is real and discard the rest. When we need to “show up” around our psychological experiences and beliefs, it can be challenging and downright depressing as there may be reasons we “locked away” certain traumas. Scorpio relates to death and rebirth and transformation as the Phoenix rises up from the ashes, stronger and wiser after a journey into the “dark night”. Through wading through the muck, the filth, the very wounded and cavernous sticky darkness, it can emerge healed and transformed. Not a journey to be taken lightly as processing the heavy stagnant energies and exploring the markers of time, we may be confronted with our childhood imprinting, life events that may have “marked” our soul. It is “safe” to some extent to let “bygones be bygones” and exist in an unconscious state. Becoming aware of that which may run deep in us is not for the faint of heart. Through Saturn’s prodding, over the past few years, we may have had experiences that triggered our psychological vulnerabilities. We may have had to look at really scary places that may have felt as though we were pushed to the edge and felt like screaming “Mercy!”. If we had our druthers, we probably would not opt for the “deep dive” into our repressed experiences, we buried them for good reason, right? As events may have brought forward these memories, it may have been a challenging past few years, but the “silver lining” if you will is that taking out the magnifying glass to our “psyche” allows for a deep healing opportunity. Through becoming aware of the “behind the scenes” puppeteers, we can again grab hold of the reigns and through acceptance and compassion, turn the garbage into gold, just like the alchemical process.
So what next? Saturn enters Sagittarius in the evening tomorrow where it will remain for another 2.5 years. Sagittarian energy contains a certain level of optimism and resiliency, choosing to see the glass as “half full” and after this past 2 years that may be just what the doctor ordered. However, Saturn will still be guiding us to “get real” and shake out that which is “just hype” leading us into areas of discovery rooted in what we believe, what we envision for our future, and what is the real truth of what we know. As Sagittarius can get “high in the sky” and lofty in its ideals, we will be tasked with making sense out of what we have learned and bring that into concrete reality. To take our philosophical ideologies and theories and “stand behind them” or perhaps be “called a fool”, a braggart, or a “shyster”. We may start to see the map, the compass, the direction that is needed to root these beliefs and visions into our world. If we are successful, we may scale the mountaintop, but we must first make sure we have the right tools and are realistic in the steps we will need to take to accomplish such a feat. “Spouting off” at the mouth and being vague and fanatical with ideas that do not hold water will not be entertained by Saturn. Open up to your wisdom, your visions, and your wanderlust and be ready to explore and do the “hard work” to make your dreams come true. Venus was in Virgo on the July 25th when she went “retrograde”, retracing her steps back into Leo. She felt called to return to her “heart centered”, creative, self-loving experience, and it was time for her to disappear for 14 days in contemplation, which happens every 584 days for her. At this time, she becomes invisible as she is behind the Sun when viewed from Earth. This happened on August 15th 2015 as she made a flowing connection to Uranus and had a conflict with Saturn. Saturn seeks commitment and responsibility, a certain level of expected conditioning and discipline to follow on the charted course, regardless of difficulty. With Saturn in Scorpio the last 2 years, we have been asked to hold true to our deepest soul emotions- the extremes of our joys and our sorrows, to feel our edges. When we feel as though how could it get any more difficult, we are advised to stay, stay on course. As Saturn, the Lord of Karma wants to give us the strength to look at the darkness; it can be a heavy load to carry even with an elder at your side. Venus in her Leonian escapades looks at our relationships and what we value from the perspective of individual expression, are our relationships honoring our individuality and to what end? Are we the sole focus or is there a cohesive love vibration that allows you to be you and me to be me? In addition, it would stir up feelings as to whether we were honoring our own creative vitality- that which makes us unique as an opening to our hearts essence. With Uranus in the mix, he would be championing having the courage to be who we truly are, and rather than a hardened concrete approach, he chooses to be rather inconsistent, allowing for life to surge at critical moments and he will then intervene offering “jolts” of insight as to that which one may have never experienced or considered in the past. Just to add some fuel to the fire of Leo when Venus is retracing her steps, she meets up with Mars who also resides in Leo. Mars is the active force to Venus’ desires, endeavoring to activate her intentions in choosing her values and self worth under a creative and passionate landscape. We are finalizing our days with Saturn in Scorpio, a journey we will not revisit for another 29 years, which tends to be retrospective. As Venus has started moving forward, she is still in her shadow as has been here recently. Once she moves into Virgo on October 9th, Saturn will have moved into Sagittarius marking the end of the season of working with Saturn in trying to heal the heart through courageously looking at what has wounded us, and hopefully results in a place of greater love for other and of the self. Her attentions will move to a season of service in Virgo, refining the love that has been unearthed and reclaimed as she rises again as the Morning Star. |
