The Gemini Moon will continue to T-off the many Planets in Virgo and Pisces. Neptune, Chiron on the “dream team” and Jupiter, Venus and Mars on the “let’s get crafty” team. With the Moon in Gemini until the early morning hours of tomorrow, we may find our minds are active with some thoughts around what needs to be taken care of. We may start to see the steps laid before us with a little more clarity if we can begin to stop the mental chatter and separate that which is valuable and that which can be set aside. Today the Sun comes into perfect flow with Neptune, the mystical dreamer, and so we may feel a creative or meditative energy allowing us to follow our imaginations. They may appear with a certain realness as we start to enter the season of decay. Our environment starts to wane as the Sun begins its retreat from the Northern Hemisphere, things are darker so we begin to call in the light through fire and candles. As we approach this season of renewal, we will be focusing on absolute truths such as the reality that we will all pass. A reality that has varying levels of acceptance and yet, the holiday that reminds of such impermanence is the “All Hallows Eve” where we see ghosts, goblins, fairies, and zombie type images as people willingly dress as even “devils”, bring us into awareness of the “underworld”. We celebrate the dramatic change and yet, we have an uneasiness with it that comes to the core of Scorpio. It is “edgy” as that which sparks a reaction inside us as it rides the line of “aliveness” to do just that- bring the shadow energy alive. As the Sun retreats this time of year, so do we, allowing ourselves to rest, replenish and restore our vitality as we walk slowly into the dark season of rich contrast smelling of cinnamon and frankincense, and a desire to put on a warm coat, and “cuddle up”.
For Halloween, we will have a Cancer Moon opposing Pluto, Lord of the Underworld bringing in more flavor for a “trick or treat” mentality as the sensitive, protective heart comes in contact with the Planet of shadow and power. This could make for deep and meaningful emotions or perhaps, ones that tug on the heart. A cathartic emotional release such as crying can help one to adjust to this season of change.

At 5:05 AM PST this morning the Moon was in its fullest lunation from our view here on Earth. A Taurus Full Moon at almost 4 degrees (3 degrees 44 arc-seconds). The Ruling Planet of Taurus is Venus and we find Venus wrapped up in vibrations of Jupiter and Mars in Virgo aligning our will and drive with our jubilance and hope. Virgo’s fullest expression if we want to glean the potential for this Moon would be to think of harvest. After the Virgin labors and tends to the garden, it often bears fruit. As this Moon is stimulated by Neptune, there is an emphasis on restoring the faith in that which lies beyond us. Due to Uranus opposing Mercury, we may find relationships and communication are flowing either truthfully and skillfully or a tendency to be “unexpected” or “lightning fast” leading to potential upsets. Saturn is playing strong in its recent transition to Sagittarius, squeezing those areas that may have been a little bit “over done” or “overinflated”- time for reality checks and "concretizing" what you stand for. Saturn will keep the Moon grounded making this a very “earthy” emotional experience, allowing us to slow down, take a breather and calm the mind as we savor in all the earthly delights.
Find 3 degrees 44 arc-seconds in your chart to determine a more personal potential for this Full Moon. Be well and savor in this bountiful changing of seasons. Today the Sun will enter the sign of Scorpio. This sign depicts the Eagle, the Scorpion and the Phoenix. Known for psychological intensity and raw truth of reality no matter how hard that may be to face, Scorpio relishes in the core or the root and pushing limits to find the edges. We may experience life as a little more “direct” and obvious than Libra whether good or bad, “it is what it is”. The Moon is in Pisces today right next to the behemoth of transcendental embodiment, Neptune, creating a very strong emphasis on the dream, the mystical and the formless which as “every front has a back” can also relate to delusion, illusion and confusion. Feeling it? Neptune will be in Pisces for some time so this is not a new or passing phase, however with the Moon meeting up with this “outer” or farther away Planet, we can feel the vibration more personally. In addition, similar to applying the next layer to the canvas, the Moon’s Nodes have shifted recently into Pisces and Virgo from Aries and Libra. The axis of Aries and Libra flavor our soup with a focus on relationships- self and other. The axis of Virgo and Pisces focuses on matter and spirit, humility and compassion. The mundane, earthly endeavors that connect us to our right livelihood and ultimately spiritual consciousness. We are being asked to become aware of areas of potential martyrdom and victimhood with a calling to root in the routine and offer our services and gifts to the collective. We currently have 3 Planets in Virgo- Jupiter, Mars and Venus which can offer assistance in getting us “on track” with what we need to “get done”. If we ruminate and pontificate and exaggerate our worries and mental anxieties at this time, it will be a fueled fire in Virgo’s entrainment. Not to mention, Pluto also has a hand in the concoction by stimulating the “lets tear this shxt apart” so it is suggested to be critical of your own "critical-ness" to break it up and root it in a path inspired by the magical dream.
The Moon entered Scorpio yesterday afternoon and will remain there until the early morning hours of the 16th based on Pacific Standard Time, with some adjustments based on your location. So as we shift from the “everyone play nice” Libra Moon, Scorpio indicates we should not keep things copacetic in order to “save face” but rather relish in the intensity that presents itself. Scorpio wants to go deep whether that results in the agony or the ecstasy, it does not want to “suffer fools” and “niceties” that withhold the truth. For with its keen awareness of the undercurrents and shadows- what may lurk below the surface reality, it seeks to explore the raw and gritty aspects of life in order to experience the “full monty”. In the Moons journey, it will have a flowing connection to Neptune who reminds us to “engage the dream” and be in the moment. We may feel a sense of connection to spiritual or universal consciousness allowing us to feel that everything is playing out in our lives just as it should as we are held by a larger fabric that weaves through us to all of creation. Neptune is anchoring this consciousness in a field that contains three Planets in the opposite sign of Virgo. Here we find Venus, Mars and Jupiter earnestly asking us to look at the details, find a way to be humble and of service, and aim for maintaining routines that will bring us closer to perfection. This energy may leave us feeling self-critical or critical of others as we become aware of that which is not 100% ideal. With access to a Moon prompting us to “getting real” while being stimulated by Mars and Jupiter, we may strive to take action to get those mundane tasks knocked out knowing they will lead us to a pure vision. In this waxing crescent moon phase, we can build what we intended during New Moon so this is a good time to put forth our efforts. In relating and finding what we value with Venus in Virgo, we also want to try to keep “worry at bay” by tapping into the spring of compassion offered by Neptune. For if we commit to crafts, service that we value, and our health- moving step by step, and holding faith in a greater purpose, we can ease the tension on ourselves and others. All of this is ideally done under a landscape of individual authenticity and grace as the Sun and Uranus are also sorting out their differences and prompting us to be fearless as we honor who we truly are.
#scorpiomoon #astrology “New Moon on Monday and a firedance through the night, I stayed the cold day with a lonely satellite” sang Duran Duran. October 12, 2015 is New Moon at 5:06 PM PST in Libra, the sign associated with balance, equality, harmony, justice, beauty and cooperation. It is the 7th sign of the Zodiac where we find the desire to build bridges with others, form relationships of all kinds whether “friends” or “lovers” that are mutual and harmonious. Relating is a priority for Libra as interacting brings the opportunity to see one’s own reflection upon another as well as the chance to bond. As an air sign, Libra can be fed by engaging the mental acumen. At its best Libra exemplifies the ability to bring people together where everyone is valued, respected and treated fairly creating a pleasant atmosphere free of chaos. With a keen awareness of the “other”, the “gotcha” can be a tendency towards codependency if one “forgets” their own needs. As we all know, it is important to not lose the self in another as disappearing, becoming invisible, or “people-pleasing” will break the energetic harmony where one person is holding “all the cards”. Being a “doormat” and always doing for others without speaking up if you feel taken for granted in order to avoid “upseting the apple cart”, does not address the imbalances leaving all parties at a loss. For we have to love ourselves to truly love another.
Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping. For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts. And stand together, yet not too near together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.” ― Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet This New Moon interacts with the Planet Uranus, the rule-breaker Planet that rolls instead of spins. As Uranus confronts the New Moon, it champions for the individual expression and authenticity of the Self to have a seat at the table. It warrants that we need to be courageous to be ourselves despite adversity and the potential of feeling “alienated” or on the “outside”. Uranus calls us to be fearless, to find the truest part of ourselves and be just that. This can feel a little edgy for the cordial Libran Sun and Moon but serves to balance the equation. Find 19 degrees Libra in your chart and see what area of your life is being influenced by this New Moon. From that theme write intentions aligned with what it might look like if that area of life were in harmony. Also, reflect upon the courage it might take to “be all that you can be”. We are heading towards the waning last quarter Moon phase tomorrow, and for most of today the Moon is in Gemini. With the Sun in “relationship –oriented” and harmony seeking Libra as well as the Moon in air sign, Gemini, we can anticipate “hanging out” or finding ourselves in the company of others, for brief moments of chatting such as when you are in line or ordering coffee, or potentially an eagerness to be with your “mates”. Due to the fact that Mercury is currently “retrograde”, even the best laid plans may experience a “snafu” or 2 as the flow of information and communication may take some twists and turns, so it may be wise to anticipate delays. A good way to work with mercury retrograde energy is to slow down and inquire for more details should things appear confusing or turn to misunderstandings.
The Lord of the Underworld, Pluto is pushing on the Sun to get some attention. As psychological remnants are enchanting to Pluto as well as power and powerlessness, we can use the curiosity of the Gemini Moon to inquire into what may be going on “below the surface”. As the Libra Sun may be attracted to keeping things copacetic and cohesive, with a tendency to shy away from that which may “upset the applecart”, Pluto will be tapping the Sun on the shoulder to also address the shadow piece in balancing the light and the dark. Mars is approaching Jupiter in Virgo as Saturn in Sagittarius starts to interact with Mars, the will and action-oriented Planet. Saturn is seeking exposure of the truth, the flushing out of one’s beliefs and understandings, while Mars is trying to organize and focus on health and that which is “pure” and “good”. With Saturn wanting Mars to also consider the “higher truths” and not just “spin out” in worry trying to obtain detailed perfection and endlessly get it all right” and “perfect”, but rather see the “bigger” picture at play. For climbing the mountain begins with a single step, and rather than focus so intently on that single step, recognize that each step is just as powerful and profound as the last step on this journey of life.
