Scorpio New Moon , October 30th, 10:38 am PST The Moon returns to the Sun to start up the “New Phase”, winding down from our last Full Moon 2 weeks ago. In the light of Scorpio, we find the archetype of the Investigator, the Therapist, the Transformer and the Researcher. Being a fixed water sign, a good tool to help the Scorpion would be scuba gear to breathe in the murky depths as it plummets into the crevices to find the answers to the mysteries of life. A sign of intensity, it seeks to embrace the shadows, burn off the stale remnants, release the attachments and purify its essence. This is deep soul work, sacred transformation of that which no longer serves the light from within. During a New Moon, we have the opportunity to start anew, planting seeds that will flourish at the Full Moon. We are encouraged under this New Moon energy to dig deep. To ask ourselves the harder questions, to uncover that which may be lying just below the façade, the smile we project out to the world. What are our secrets, where do we feel any sense of shame, and how can we begin to invite this “shadow self” to the table and allow us to become more integrated and accepting of our totality. As we start to bring a voice to these discarded or buried parts, we can transcend and purify as “that which we resist, persists”. Other energies during this New Moon include Neptune providing a supportive and compassionate connection to the realm of visions and dreams. Can we open our lens wider to take in everything, and allow our relationship with the universe or the divine to provide a feeling of faith and unlimited possibility? As Neptune is right next to the South Node of the Moon, the marker of our tendencies and habits that reflect our past, we will want to pay attention to anything coming up for us. It is as if we have a portal into that where we have been, and we are ready to throw off any illusions or delusions, fantasies or “fuzzy goggle type” interpretations of reality and move towards “getting real” with ourselves under the Scorpio dynamic. With awareness of who we have been, how can we release and surrender to bring about more wholeness? Sit with yourself and have the hard conversation that is ultimately aligned with your honesty and truth. Write down what seeds you want to plant moving forward that embrace the dark and the light. What is ready to be transformed and purified? This is a new opportunity that will come to fruition at Full Moon in 2 weeks.

Mars Meets Up with Pluto The Planet Mars has moved next to Pluto in Capricorn at 15 degrees on October 19th. Pluto governs the unconscious and the soul, while Mars executes our desires and our will. Pluto, it could be argued, is more passive as it roots into the subterranean depths of our awareness, and dredges up what is ready to be processed. Mars is the ‘go-getter’ of the zodiac and ‘makes things happen’ to satisfy our motivations. Through governing our will, Mars can be likened to the spark within that gets you out of bed in the morning. It is the part of you that decides “what’s next?” What paths will you go down, what roads will you travel? If we look at Mars cycles, we find that it takes 2 years for Mars to orbit the Sun. If we have 12 signs, Mars will spend about 2 months in each sign over the course of 2 years. If we take that cycle and break it down into phases, like the Moon, we would have just ended the balsamic or final phase. We would now have just begun a “new phase” when Mars crossed over Pluto on October 19th. The last time this happened was in mid-November of 2014. We can think back to the time frame of November 12, 2014 and recall what began during that time and recently reached completion. When we are in the New phase, the direction has not yet been defined. There are infinite possibilities as the birthing of potential arises. In this phase, it can be likened to being in the dark. You cannot see what is ahead but you can sense an air of excitement as the fires ignite within. It can be a naive time where we may stumble and trip on our own enthusiasm, but this is all part of the planting the new seeds for this 2 year Mars cycle. In the Tarot, this phase is likened to the Fool card where there is a “fresh start”. At this time, individually we can release the energy of the past 2 years that no longer motivates us. We can choose to forge a new path, explore new directions, and allow ourselves to try new things where we may fumble and fall due to our lack of experience. It is a time to be open to whatever arises and peaks your interest. A level of caution applies here too as Mars is the God of War so be aware of impulsive reactions. It is always in our best interest to respond and not react. October 15th, is an Aries Full Moon and a Super Moon as it will be travelling closer to Earth causing it to look larger to us. Aries is the archetype of the Warrior, the Pioneer, the Daredevil, and the Leader. As a fire sign, Aries is working to develop courage and respond intuitively to life. The Moon will meet up with Uranus in Aries, who could be called the most rebellious of Planets, and with fire in the mix, it doesn’t take too much imagination to see how this could be a “BIG” Full Moon. Uranus is always pushing for us to be our most authentic selves, the one that cares little what others think, but rather is true to their individuality at all costs. There may be insights around we need individually under this Full Moon. Other players include Mercury and Pluto who will be “squaring” each other or causing a level of tension that will not want to be ignored. Mercury is the communicator of the zodiac and Pluto is the keeper of the “unconscious” making this interaction potentially interesting. Pluto may divulge some secrets to Mercury who is willing to traverse the land of the Underworld and bring back the information that may have been swept under the carpet. Pluto may desire to purge and break apart that which no longer applies based on this new information that could lead to a shift in perception. We will want to pay attention to anything that feels like it arising from our unconscious. If it is arising, it seeks to be healed and transformed to fit with our evolving selves. Find 23 degrees Aries in your chart to find what area of your life you may have information revealed or an insight into understanding of your individual desires. |
