Bring on the light, Awaken to the light!

Winter Solstice is today at 2:23 PM PST, and marks the moment when the Sun enters the sign of Capricorn. Capricorn, the sign of the Mountain Goat, and the hard-working, industrious person who is driven to reach peaks and obtain mastery of something. In the Northern Hemisphere, this always symbolizes the wintertime and the dying season. All the leaves fall and many things go back to the darkest level of living until the water and sunshine returns in spring. It is the time of pure raw existence, no fluff, just survival and an efficient plan to do so. Capricorn is a sign you know will have earthly items that make it possible to be ready for any complication. Waste is not valued and so the organization of one's life is important, making Plan B always at the ready.

Solstice or SOUL stice harkens in the light. Light is the warmth that opens our soul and our spirit. We inherently love the Sun, and sunsets and sunrises. The Sun is so vital to our very existence and this day is to celebrate the Sun's return. It has been slowly winding down to less and less time each day with us. This can make us feel like sleeping more and spending more time with the dark of night. Cold Fall nights bring fireplace's and hot cocoa, something we desire to replace the warmth of the Sun's light.

Uranus will be flowing easily to the Sun encouraging the Sun to follow it's own guide, not the one prescribed by anyone else, but the path that speaks to YOU and maybe only you. New insights are also possible to ignite the fires of passion. Mars and Chiron in Pisces will ask for us to let go and surrender, even to finally release that familiar wound, that limiting belief, that troll on your shoulder. Commune with the spirits, meditate and go within to find the map of your spiritual journey.

Today marks the beginning of Winter. As the Sun returns, the cold intensifies and we see more things fall away as the light returns nurturing seeds of new life. In this way, this time of year is to say goodbye and let go to what does not serve your light, surrender it to the dark, releasing it and beginning to call in your light. When you think of the Sun in all it's glory, does it question if it's light is too bright? Does the Sun wonder if maybe today it should not shine, perhaps people are tired of the light, maybe it's light isn't good enough?

NO! The Sun shines and does so with great vigor, and each of us has that spark, that light that shines without hesitation. Yes, sometimes clouds or other weather conditions impact our experience of the Sun's light, yet it is shining brightly behind it all. SHINE your light says the Sun on Winter Solstice and you will blossom in Springtime!
