Libra is the sign of balance and couldn’t we all use a bit of that lately? What is fair and just anymore? As the sign associated with the Scales of Justice, striving towards equality is always the end goal. While trying to achieve that middle position or balance point may seem like a cake walk, it is far from that. Let’s say you have are invited to a meeting and are asked to be the negotiator and make sure everyone is happy. You begin the meeting and you listen to each person take a turn and express their views on the new elevator music. As you can imagine, quite quickly you would notice some people were happy with the new melodies, while others liked some of the music, and others wanted to avoid the elevators entirely now. Getting everyone to agree on the type of music would take some time to figure out what appeals to most people. Libra would be one of the best signs to manage this task. There is tension. There is a desire to get to calm or at least immerse oneself in a soothing environment. And along comes Uranus in Aries opposing the Moon. Uranus is the wild card of the zodiac and represents individuality and authenticity. Aries is the Warrior archetype. Warriors are strong and steady and willing to take risks to be victorious. Social norms, social graces and “should” or “don’t upset the applecart” are not welcomed by Uranus. Uranus wants to champion being unique and chooses to challenges the status quo by rolling instead of spinning on its axis. We have our feelings represented by the Libran Moon. The Moon wants peace and balance and would, therefore, have a tendency to be polite and accommodating. Uranus is going head to head opposing this Moon asking for rebellion and courage, a call to awaken the trailblazer. The Moon is not looking for a fight and yet, Uranus feels passionate about being true to oneself, no matter how much you stand apart from the crowd. We may feel this turmoil showing up in our relationships- how much do I keep the peace and an open ear versus how much do I fight to stay true to my individual nature? Jupiter and Mercury are nearby in Scorpio. As Jupiter expands whatever it touches and Mercury is the communication station, we may be inclined towards getting really raw and real with our thoughts. Getting to the bottom of those relationship issues may prove to be a path you find yourself traversing. Scorpio is no BS. So, if you decide to engage in conversations, be forewarned that skirting around issues may not be tolerated at this time. You may get called on your stuff. If you are up for the intensity, it is a great time to reach out for a deeper connection. As always on New Moon, this is a time to set an intention that will come to fruition under the Full Moon. The Full Moon will be in Taurus in 2 weeks. Some ideas to ponder while setting your intentions. Written words are powerful.

This astrological event has seemed to make its way into the mainstream awareness along with Sun sign astrology. As of June 11th, Mercury went direct or rather than moving backwards in relation to Earth, it is now moving forward. However, as in our lives when shifts occur, it isn’t just ON and then OFF. It is a phase or transition that doesn’t have sharp endings and beginnings, but rather small steps that eventually lead to a different direction. Such is the case for Mercury- while it is now moving along with the “normal” rhythm again, it still has some catching up to do to get back where it started prior to going “retro”. It is currently at 4 degrees Gemini and started its journey of recollection at 13 degrees so it must make its way back through those past moments to be fully on track again. This will happen around June 27th. Our thinking and communication shall start to flow with greater ease; however there still may be some tricky moments of misunderstanding. As this latest retrograde was in Gemini, ruler of Mercury, it seemed to be quite intense as anytime a Planet is in its “home” sign, it can have some extra oomph as it knows exactly how to leverage those energies. Mars has also been in Gemini and, especially at the end of May was close enough to Mercury to add just the right amount of fuel to the fire of the inquisitive “monkey mind”.
Today we see Mars very close to the Sun, which is the “yang” or outward force, the will, illuminated and energized by the Sun’s golden rays. We may be experiencing a drive to ‘get out there’ and be active, to play within the arena of information and dialogue. We may feel especially chatty or interested in considering all possible facts or we may feel inclined to take a short trip, even if that trip may be to the corner store or library. We may want to be “fed” information and are encouraged to get really “curious” as we move about this beautiful world. |
