I wasn’t running to write this moons’ post and it just hit me now why that probably was the case. Scorpio Full Moon, the one that grabs at the gut to get to the core, the truth, the full drama and discourse of life. For the intensity feeds her, the mystery precludes her, intimate bonding consumes her, as she holds some amazing power and transformational energy looking to explore that which may not be conscious. This may bring with it an edge of the “uncomfortable”, the things we may push away under the rug or avoid in our lives. The reality of our impermanent existence. Scorpio walks boldly into that good night, not fearing the dark but trying to balance it with the light. For it has to know when to come up for air and “shake it off” or laugh at life. Humor is its’ greatest tool. So as we may be experiencing energy directed towards old wounds to our heart, memories of something that has now transformed, we are invited to look at that shadowy area of our lives and accept it, let it out from under the rug.
Of interest is that Scorpio is on the horizon or “rising” at the time of the Full moon. The Moon is in the 12th house, leading to boundary-less exposure of our hearts to some of the most dramatic events in our lives. Scorpio rules transformative events such as birth, death, sex, and intimacy as these types of events trigger motivations to look deeper into the psyche and reach beyond the viewable reality. Helping the Moon to expand its creativity and imagination is Neptune in flowing aspect while Pluto forms a stimulating energy in Capricorn, adding to the awareness of wounds around authority and providing for oneself. Jupiter is in Leo fighting for a desire to be like children and approach life with great creativity especially towards learning and going beyond what has been alight before, where everyone can express themselves. On the tales of Beltane on May 1st, we are also drawn to an awareness of the “flowering” around us. The blooming signifies the reproductive phase of spring calling us to celebrate life in nature with others. All the flowers are brimming with sweetness, as the many recent blooms share their pollen inviting suitors. As the Sun is in Taurus, this is a time to celebrate Mother Earth and the bounty in our lives.
