![]() “It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all, in which case you have failed by default.” — J.K. Rowling The Sun entered Virgo on Monday, August 22nd. The shift from creative self-expression in Leo, the Sun enters an energetic vibration of discernment, refinement, and humility. In contrast to the pride and confidence we find in Leo, we find a softer energy that seeks to improve whatever it touches. The “Virgin” is now aware that it has talents from Leo, however, now is able to see the imperfections. Using the mental faculties from its ruler Mercury, Virgo seeks to discern what is useful and what can be discarded. Virgos can choose to take a “behind the scenes” role as their satisfaction comes from using their sharp mind to chisel away at any excesses, refine their processes, and nurture the growth of our physical world. Oftentimes Virgos will be very “busy” working on tasks, for if the mind is left idle for too long, worry may set in, especially when aware of what needs to get done. The aim is to direct the self towards a noble task and to take a humble approach, allowing for adjustments to be made along the way. The ‘chinks in the armor’ are actually learning tools. Through the willingness and humility to tackle the mundane, the mind can relax. In that tempered state, Virgo can transcend ordinary reality like an alchemist. The opposite sign Pisces relates to spirituality and mystical energy allowing for Virgo to bring ‘Heaven down to Earth’. For in the opposites, we find qualities of the other, just like the white dot in the black circle shown in the Yin/Yang symbol. Another significant event happens today in which Saturn and Mars are practically on top of one another in what astrologers refer to as the ‘conjunction’. This fusion of energy in Sagittarius can root us in what we believe and have the drive to ‘go for it’. This interaction is a little more loaded in that Mars is what we call ‘out of bounds’ meaning it is a little ‘off the radar’ from the ecliptic. When a Planet is in this position, it becomes like a maverick or a non-conformist, a rebel. With the Planet Mars, the God of War, this can be a little edgy and intense. In the right circumstances, this could play out as someone who finds a cause they can stand behind and chooses the courageous path of standing up for what they believe in. In the less than ideal circumstances, we may hear stories of people who are ‘blinded by faith’ and become fanatical resulting in acts of violence. Tread lightly now with others as you may have to ‘agree to disagree’ in efforts to keep the peace, yet maintain your stance. Individually, this is an excellent time to start taking action in the direction of your desires.
